I was wondering, what do you guys sound like? Accents and whatnot?
When I read the C-Box, in my head everyone has different accents. For instance, to me, Dan always sounds a tad like Dara O'Briain, JT sounds oddly hillbilly-ish and PuNK sounds weirdly posh.
Personally, I don't have the Valleys accent mostly given to ze Welsh (about seven people do, most of them being genetically more similar to goats than humans) or the Cardiff accent that some of you might have seen from Gavin and Stacey (a crackin' show, truth be told). I have a kind of stereotypical English gent accent (with a slight Welsh lilt) that sounds out of place amongst the army of "aright, 'ow's it goin'?" chavs that attend my school.
So...what about you, the great people of ISSUING ORDERS!

Um...my accent is British...I don't speak like 'ows it going...sort of like...I dunno...I suppose I have a posh like accent, my voice is deep, not your normal girl but I can sing high to a top D, and I can do a Liverpool accent (Blood Brothers influence) and a Devonshire one (War Horse influence). If I can, I might be able to upload a part of a school play or something so you guys can here me speak...hmm...*can't work techie stuff*
BTW - Rhys = Gavin and Stacey is AMAZING isn't it! Third series coming out end of this year, early next yay!

Good idea for a thread, Rhys. As a writer, this will prove useful for giving my characters realistic accents.

This character, until further notice, has been placed on the back burner, and will not be used in any RPs. This being said, the character may be un-retired in the future, but all storylines concerning this character are on hold indefinitely.

Good idea. I need to do some more research on regional accents for Viv and Adelheid, but I have Niamh's figured out. Well...mostly. If anyone can help me find a regional Irish accent for her, PM me.
Niamh Dunlevy: She's been living out of Ireland since she was sixteen, about a year after the war started, so her Irish accent has somewhat fallen. However, she has a tendency to mix her "t" and "th" sounds up (I read somewhere that was an Irish tendency; forgive me if I am wrong), and she ocassionally drops the h at the beginning of words. This makes words such as "house" and "he" sound like "'ouse" (rhyming with "mouse") and "'e" (rhyming with "see"), respectively. Although not indicated in the RP, she also rolls her r's, and when her emotions are high, her accent thickens. I have yet to try my hand at writing the latter in an RP.
Niamh also has a tendency to use "ye" and "ya" in place of "you", and she slurs her "ands". The latter of the first mannerism was picked up from her Uncle Riordan, who she spent a great deal of time around in her youth. Her Uncle Riordan's youngest boys, the twins Aidan-James and Aran, also have this trait, and a speech similar to Niamh's. This is because Niamh often babysitted them before she moved out of her parents' house.
Edit: Fixed a couple of things.

So Rhys thinks I'm a back woods redneck does he? Hmmmm, never heard a redneck use some of the grammar I do, but oh well. I actually have little to no "southern draw" as it's refered to in the U.S., best scenario I have was in the military, there was this rather well traveled guy that boasted he could pick what state people lived in for most of their lives, and so far he had a pretty good record, nailed almost everyone in my unit, honestly, I watched him do it. Then t'was my turn, he pegged me for Utah as he said I had no distinct accent, but I have lived all of my life (besides my military time) in the heart of Dixie. Had to show him my ID to prove it, it was hilarious.
As for my characters.
Edward S. McMillan - rather deep, slow speaking soft voice, but can get rather boisterous when riled.
Edzard Crimm - not deep but not high pitched, quick speaking with a rather proper sense about it.
Henry F. Patterson - Pretty much the same as McMillan, but not as deep, and not as soft, he does have a bit of the "southern draw"

This clip is pretty good to demonstrate my characters' accents:
Of the three guys at the start, the girl has the same accent as Nicholas, the spiky haired bloke has the same accent as Davies and the bloke in the suit has the same accent as Rhys and Aksel.
