I'm putting this up here because I realized I was pretty much trying do this whole thing myself and was a little overwhelmed getting it started. So here's a list of things that need to get done to bring the site back into a presentable state.
- Finish the shop. ++ recollect images for weapons specifically. NPCs are going to change so that's not a priority. ++ write up descriptions for all weapons (each one should cover notable features, flaws, and a little flavor) ++ Finish filling out the Italian and Japanese portions of the shop (images need to be found for the Japanese in particular) ++ Research (and discussion of what to do with) vehicles, aircraft, and maybe warships.
- Rules and information section ++ Discussion on better organization. ++ Compiling and organizing existing threads, removing unnecessary threads and tweaking the ones we keep. ++ Creation of any threads deemed needed.
-Member inventories ++ Discussion and execution of a plan to recover old inventories.
-Unit boards ++ break up the current unit threads and give each unit a sub board with threads for each sub unit.
-Battle boards ++ Condense down to fewer boards to get rid of all those unsightly empty boards.
More will be added as we think of them, and those completed will be marked through.
Anything that doesn't require editing powers. Research and write up some weapon descriptions, find good images for weapons. Read through some of the help threads and see what's old or needs to be reworked.
I'll be picking over small details. StG, not STG or Stg. Stug, not TUg or Stug. SturmGewehr. SturmGeschutz (umlaut u in schutz).
I'll skip past man weapons and get straight to my point.
Vehicles.
There are so many of them worth putting it the shop it's unreal. I have a thousan questions. If we implement a system similar to blank npcs where you build your vehicle, how do we implement that in the shop? Sell th original variant of each series (pz iii, iv, etc) and then use upgrades to get the different variants?such as getting a Panzer IVc from the shop and using upgrades to get IVe/f/f2/g/h/j? A more detailed and accommodating system would be to sell sectiojs. These different main guns can go on these different chassis' and have this much armor.
The Panzer III, IV, and 35/38(t) chassis' were used in over 30 vehicles I can think of. The KwK37 L/24 gun was used in four of those 30 vehicles, and was used in at least one halftrack Add an armor cost and there you go. Buy the chassis, gun/s, armor. It would lessen the number of actual shop listings in the long run.
Just like a historical squad listing board, we can have a vehicle board showing what vehicle variants are composed of. There would still be vehicle upgrades such as camo, dozer, side skirts, etc.
This would shift the shop to a purchasing role. The browsing would be done in the boards. Device board shows individual weapons stats. Vehicle shows vehicle stats, armament, and device modifier. Infantry shows short stat list and armament.
I have a goal of breaking up the big units into their constituent pieces and creating threads for each of these pieces in the appropriate sub-boards. For most units this means independent threads for every company.
To that end, I need each of the active units rosters broken into those smaller pieces and pm'd to me as either individual messages/posts, or as pieces within separate tags.
15 CP for each complete roster sent to me.
Bonus: Converting the NPCs therein to reflect the new NPC experience and equipment setup.
Each private needs to be converted to basic (marked with (B) at the end of their name), corporal to experienced (E), and a sergeants to veteran (V). Specialist NPCs will be marked as experienced tier (E) with their special equipment listed beneath their name, same with the veteran troops.
Example:
Sniper John Smith
Becomes
Sniper John Smith (E) - M1903 Rifle, Scoped
Basic and experienced units have the standard rifles of their nation and thus no need to make mention of their weapons.
Adding this conversion to your submitted rosters will add an extra 15CP to every completed unit, for a net of 30CP for every submission.
Will you be requiring player characters to be included in the rosters?
1st PLT Heiko Alkema Jack Smith (B) Bob Smith (B) Sniper John Smith (E) - M1903 Rifle, scoped
Etc?
I'm about to pounce on this as soon as my questions are answered. Also, should we write here what roaters have been sent already, to prevent you from getting a dozen of the same roster?

Yeah we talked about it and decided on Veteran since the Veteran Manpower troops are more for the whole "leading" role.
They were one of the last items added to the shop right after the skill tree addition, purchasable by ADV. COs, but then most everything went inactive so there were only a few of them bought.
We're really rolling! About 1/2 done with German armoured vehicles, if my assumption that halftracks and armored cars will be included there is correct.
As soon as they are finished, I'll be hitting the books again before moving on Soviet and then Japanese armor. The Japanese will be fairly easy, methinks.
