Don't you think we should wait on Japanese vehicles/weapons/etc. until we have completed the other nations that actually have characters for them, active characters on top of that?
Not really. The Soviet armor list is a big one, so I'll welcome a day-long "break" and do the Japanese list in a single afternoon or so. Their whole vehicle armament is smaller than the German Armored Car list.
Be a nice intermission, and shouldn't interfere with what everyone else is doing, since Heiko ultimately approves them. A little research on my part can save the staff from unnecessary wiki-diving. Present my report, which gets screened by staff.
I've added a lot to vehicle list, doing most of the Commonwealth, Italian, and Japanese section, with help from Heiko. I also separated the armaments into two sections.

I don't believe I've seen the list, no. However from the way I'm reading this, it's sounds like there would be possibly several dozen to hundreds of vehicles for some nations alone, do we really that many variants of each vehicle? Are we not going to use possibly an updated version of how it used to work...buy a base model and then buy the upgrades you want so it can perform the role you want? Isn't that how we are doing NPCs now? remember the HUGE list of NPCs we used to have in the shop?

Prepare to have your mind blown. That database has been lovingly crafted by Hautt, Panzer, and myself. It's mostly complete with the exception of halftracks, armoured cars, and the occasionaly auxiliary vehicle. I've yet to figure out a good pricing scheme, but I'm kicking around a little nugget of a good idea in my head at the moment. I'll share when I've got some of the edges worn off.

Edward"Butcher"McMillan It isn't necessary, no. We might as well do it while we're restructuring though.
A lot of the variational differences are slight, such as suspension, or internal layout. Others are less so such as armor thickness and quality, and different main guns often had very different properties.
We basically are using a base model system, JT. Even more so than before. The way the shop was organized before allowed for variants in a series to a degree, such as long and short barrelled Pz IVs. It didn't define what variants it allowed, or what vehicles were derived from those. We would need a Pz III and a StuG III entry, when they will both come from one shop entry under the new system.
Like Heiko said, we just need a sound pricing system. This has been on my mind lately, and it's an important issue.
