Ridgway Stumbled upon an old German Lodge that was used as a base at one time.

First Post:

Ridgway had been sent out with the 82nd Airborne to be dropped behind enemy lines. After boarding the plane they had crossed over to German occupied territory, and within minutes they had been spotted and shot at by flak. Then they took a hit in the left wing. The pilot told them to just jump now.

Ridgway bailed out of the plane, and landed in patch of trees. He quickly ripped himself out of his suit and snatched his Lee-Enfield from his leg bag. Uh those stupid British leg bags, they where always tugging at you ankle and got quite annoying,he thought to himself.

A short while after getting out of his chute he had began walking threw the dense forest. When he cam upon an old lodge. It had looked peaceful and abandoned. SO he aprroached it slowly. He noticed that it had lots of fortifications like it used to be an old base.

He got to the side of the house and ran in the door looking every which way. Then he had figures out the house was clear. It was such a disaster it looked as if the soldiers that used this as a base last time had left in a hurry leaving everything behind. HE found what looked to be maybe the CO's desk. He walked over to it and noticed a map of the area sitting on it. Score he thought to himself. He began to study the map to find the best way out of this mess and maybe towards his main objective to the safety of his commrads. He was exsausted from the jump so he grabbed an old rickety wood chair and took a seat.
OOC: Hope its ok its my first post Kinda short sorry. Anyone can join in fact please do I would like to get this one going!

Jack cursed as the branches of the undergrowth whipped at his limbs and face, and hopelessly tried to cut a small clearance from the barrage with his bayonty. I'd rather face the Krauts any day. He stopped for a couple of seconds and took a swig from his bottle. To say it was dark out, it was unusually hot and fighting the forest wasn't helping. "I think there's a clearance around here. It can't be that far." The six privates exchanged breathless nods as Jack pushed onwards towards wherever he was going.

"Hold up, I see a house. It looks abandoned but be careful . Drills!" Jack spoke in a fierce whisper as the men fumbled with their rifles and slid their bayonets into position. "I'll head for the front door. Rigby, Davies, you're with me. The rest of you keep an eye on the windows." Jack brough his carbine up to his shoulder and started slowly pacing towards the house. The first window he reached was boarded up and Jack used his rifle to knock the wood on the floor. In the half-light, he saw a figure on a chair and quickly brought the rifle's aim over the mans head. Rigby lit a match and Jack recognised the mans face. "Lewis? You alright? Lets hole up here for the night and see if we can find the rest of the guys tomorrow." He turned to the rest of the men and signalled them over. "John, Harry, James, get in that trench. Ryan get behind those sandbags. Rigby those barrels over there, and Davies the crates. Quickly, we'll relieve you guys one every hour or so."

Nathan watched his men out the door then headed towards the stairs. "Damian, do you wanna try and get some shut-eye and I'll wake you up when it's time for you to go outside. I'll keep an eye from upstairs."

Hey, I'd just like to intervene here and say that you MUST buy a sandbag bunker before you use one. You'll need to take that out of your map

As Daniel was on partol through the woods looking for any surviving allied soldier. With his luck he would find nothing until 20 minutes later he came across a parachute. As he was examining the parachute he noticed footprints. So he started following the footprints until he noticed a house. So Daniel got behind a tree but not too close to the house so he wont be spotted. As he was watching he noticed 2 allied soldiers. So he stood there and remand quiet. Then Daniel started thinking "i should head back to the HQ and alert the General." as he was thinking his glare became unfocus. Then he shook his head and start observing some more.

The day was winding to a close as Edzard crept up into position, his gillie suit draped over his still and slow moving body. The enemy had been about for a bit and seemd to have no clue what they were in for, this was going to be as easy as shooting a paper target, except this target was no where near 1,000 meters away like in school. Edzard leaned his head forward ever so slowly and pressed his cheek against the but of his rifle, leaving enough room so that the recoil wouldn't get him but the sights were still exceptionally clear. Hmmm, bout two clicks...one...two, that should do it. A snake slithered under the barrel of his rifle as he lined up for the shot. He had been watching the Allies as best he could from a distance, not too much of a pattern to memorize, most of them hadn't moved too much, too bad for them.

The snake crept along, not even realizing Edzards presence in the area. There was not a lot of daylight left and there was no sign of reinforcements yet, Edzard knew that he should wait until the last possible second to make the shot, once it gets too dark, no one would be able to fire much without light, well that time had come. He lowered his sights, passing them over the poor mans head and resting them just below his neck as center mass. He clicked his selector lever from safe to semi and let out a long breath, holding the last bit before he squeezed the trigger intended to send the round that might rip the man's heart from his chest. He lowered his rifle and set out creping to his next location.

OOC: Due to my sniper cert, I only have to reveal my location at this time to the moderator of this thread.

I will be mod-marking this thread; Edzard has provided me with a copy of the map regarding his location. Also, a Sniper Thread will be written up soon regarding their attributes and rules, so I'm sorry if this is a little out of the blue - But Edzard is elligable to be hidden, until found by the enemy or his position given away.

Scharführer, Crimm:

• Successfully remaining hidden in the foliage with the Ghillie suit, Edzard Remains unseen to the enemy.
  
  
• Shooting a single shot towards PVT. Rigby (circled with the Green Ring), the FG42's bullet hit a little higher than anticipated (due to Edzard being crouched, he doesn't have height supreriority, so the bullet hit upwards).
  
  - The bullet cut straight through PVT. Rigby's throat, slicing open his gullet in the process. Unable to cry for help or alert the other's during the moment, PVT. Rigby has fallen to the ground and been choked upon his own blood within a matter of seconds; Killing PVT. Rigby almost instantly after a small struggle to breathe.
  
  
• The noise of the bullet being fired, has however alerted the Allied Forces of an enemy presence.

Lewis heard the shot and thought immediately about the safety of his troops. He yelled out one of the windows for all the troops to come in. One by one each troop came in, but there was one missing Pvt. Rigby. " OH SHIT!!" Said Lewis. Rigby hasn't come back. Lewis ran across the old wooden floor to the window every step creaking loudly. Then looked out the window towards Rigby's position.

"Oh my GOD" Shouted Lewis "everybody get DOWN!!", "A SNIPER HAS SHOT RIGBY HE'S DEAD!!!" "Stay low below the windows where you can't be seen!" Lewis Scarcely said. Lewis peeked his head above the window Cell to see if he could see anything.

Nothing so he moved over a few windows. Still he saw nothing but the densely packed darkness of the green forest. He knew it had to of been a sniper an ordinary soldier could not conceal himself to this good of an extent. "Well we're pinned here till we can find that DAMN SNIPER!" Lewis yet again Shouted.

OOC: Just thought I would let ya know Jack Knights PM-ED me letting me know I could move his units where ever I want and I could have Full Control over them. ALso Thanks for Mod Marking this one PuNk!!!!!

As Daniel heard the shot and noticed one of the allied soldiers goes down. then he knew there was a sniper around but he couldnt see them. As he was standing there he couldn't decide on if to go back to the HQ and get men or just fight them all by himself with the sniper. As he was thinking that is when he said "Forget it" and started moving out. So as he moved out he got closer to the house and got behind another tree. As he was get behind the tree he thought to himself "I hope I wasnt spotted" and then he decided to go prone and watch the allies alittle bit more and watch their movements.

OOC: It was actually Davies that got shot (Rigby was by the barrels). But then again, Rigby was being annoying yesterday, so no problems really



Jack leapt down the stairs, three at a time and narrowly avoided falling over, gripping the banister tightly. "How the hell can they hit us? It's sodding pitch black out there!" Jack looked around the room. Several pieces of furniture jumped out at him, notably a pair bookcases and a desk. "Look, Rigby was behind cover, so the sniper must be in this area" Jack began signalling an arc with his hand. "There isn't much wind, but I saw movement in the trees to the west-north-west of this position. It could be the sniper, but any half-decent sniper wouldn't make that mistake." He paused for breath and swung his rifle onto his back. "We'll move some of this furniture over the windows to give us cover on the ground floor. Upstairs it'll be open so we can get shots out."

The room turned into a brief flurry of movement as the desk and bookcases were moved against the window. Tones were stuffed onto the shelves to hopefully stop bullets - Jack had seen it happen before - and small peepholes were left for potshots. "Alright, we can't do anything if we can't see the enemy, and we don't want to give them light. Ryan, upstairs with me, everyone else, spread out."

OOC: Just to clarify, there are is no light of sound coming from the cabin. Everyone inside (with the possible exception of Lewis) is in a position where they cannot be shot at from the outside. For all intents and purposes, we are invisible to Edzard.

Yes it's Edzard's turn to post next. He also has a confused question, regarding the upstairs to the building.

Is the upstairs one WHOLE floor or half a floor? Because your map with the grey line has confused me and him. We both thought it was an Attic/Half an upstairs floor. So if you'd be so kind to just explain whether the second level is one whole floor or not, I'm sure he'll post pronto.

***I GUESS THIS IS A MEMBER MOD POST***

Ok guys I have heard about some confusion with the upstairs. The up stairs itself is only like a half upstairs but you can walk out onto the deck from there then you are able to walk all the way around the house on the deck but the upstairs is only a half floor with only 3 window's. From the upstairs you can see the lower level too. The 3 windows that are on the upstairs are also on the lower stairs in the same place.

OOC: Not sure why you seem to think you are invisible, you would need black camo for that, but with the dimming sunlight and no light in the building, might as well be true. Didn't include a map, didn't see the point, by the mod knows where I am.

Edzard felt the recoil of his rifle and smiled a bit as the feeling had been long missed, he smiled a bit more as he saw the Allied soldier drop straight to the ground and writhe in pain for a few seconds before giving in to the wound. He could somewhat make out the rest of the men scurrying about to get into the building. Well that is going to make things a little more difficult, but at least I know where they are. Edzard thought as he pulled his rifle back into his body and laid down. he began to crawl a bit to see if he could get a shot on the occupants of the building.

He stopped every couple of feet and glassed any small openings he could find in the building, but none of them seemed to have any movement through them, so he continued on his way. Wish I had some help on this one. Be nice is someone would draw some attention away so I could try and make another shot. The thought passed through his mind briefly, but he knew he was not in too bad of shape, they Allies had yet to fire, much less in his direction, he would just wait for them to screw up and then point it out to them.

He thought of the snake that had slithered by earlier, no one knew he even existed until he chose to be seen. No one knew where he was now, the next one that would probably see him would be because he would have struck, and then it would be too late. Edzard liked to think of himself like that, being non-existent on the battlefield, only until it was too late.
