Just out of curiosity, anyone here own firearms? Whether they be for sport, recreation, collection, etc. What do you have?
I have two myself
First one is my pride and joy, my Hi-Standard M4 Semi-automatic rifle. Shoots the NATO 5.56mm cartridge. I've got the original sights for it, but it's removable so I have a standard red-dot that I installed on it and I also have a telescopic sight that can give me range up up to about 500 yards with it.
My second rifle is a Remington M770. Bolt action 4+1, 22'' barrel. It shoots a .30-06 round and has a 3-9x40mm scope boresighted. I don't hunt. I may be from the South but I'm not into it. I use this simply for personal enthusiasm and marksman skills.
So both are for recreational use, and I enjoy them. I plan to add on to my collection down the line, hopefully some WWII weapons, especially an M1 Garand.

No firearms, yet. I already have the collection in my mind. Anything from a Springfield M1903 A3 to a Romanian AKM.
Czech vz. 24's, Russian Mosins, Japanese Arisakas, maybe a few pistols, and some more modern stuff like an M4 w/ Holographic sights, or just a red dot, depending on how I'm feeling.
Still, I'm more of an AK guy than an AR guy, and a bolt action than a semi-auto guy. Maybe it's 'cause I like bayonets.
My uncle Bob has a Colt 1911 copy he got in Germany.
When asked how he got it, he replied: "Well, let's just say the kid it belonged to didn't need it anymore... he has... *ahem*... gone on with his life."

I own a Springfield 1911 .45, a Mauser Kar98k, a Ruger Mini-14 Ranch, and a Bakal 12-guage. But Howard the M4 that you were talking about is truly a nice piece of weaponry.
Death is imminent. The only way to control it is to choose how you die. A coward or a hero.

Kar98k is a very fine rifle for its time. And you can never go wrong with a trusty 1911 .45. But yes you are correct, my M4 is my pride and joy. I've got some pictures of it, I'll upload them and let you all see some.

The only real weapons I own are simple things. A machete which I also use occasionally for trips through the brush, and a knife which I mainly use for picking my teeth an cutting cheese.
My belt is a weapon too, I guess. Nice thick leather, and a heavy buckle, great for bashing skulls or dragging your trousers down at the mall.
I don't have any current firearms, but I do intend on expanding my ''armoury' of historical weaponry and perhaps a few updated pieces in the near future. Owning a firearm in Britain isn't really your common-day thing, compared to American households, so it's not always easy working the paperwork to own firearms in your neighborhood here. I've seen cases were the Police have often visited (legal) gun-owners when a suspected crime has taken place within the area and in London, just like New-York, you get a lot of crime.
So would just cause more issues than it's worth to own a weapon... Really. Here anyway; but I don't intend to let that push me aside. I do intend on getting a few of the following though, in time:
- Lee Enfield SMLE (British bolt-action rifle of WWI & II) - Colt .45 (most probably a modern replica, originals go for at least a thousand pounds - plus)
They're on my top list. Not sure about anything else at the moment. A tank perhaps? HEHE! I already own a few bayonets though, with the original scabbards and leather frogs from WWII. As far as it goes to any type of combat orientated pieces I own. ~Danny

A Colt .45? As the governor and founder, you ought to allow yourself something a bit more... luxurious. Maybe a Heckler and Koch Mk23 .45 ACP, with suppressor, and laser aiming module, (LAM,) perhaps?
