Not that it's my place, but this idea is starting to develop more nicely;

Rather than having Strumfelder suffer a defeat and wanting to cover it up (Not sure why)? Perhaps Heiko could be Jonas and Adelheid's saviour, because of his high status "Family Connections" and well, Strumfelder could possibly call a sudden quit to the man-hunt and backtrack slightly to cover up the whole ordeal.

Again, this would still leave Strumfelder and Jonas optional storyline plots for the future, as the two of them would have knives in one another's backs. The only inconsistancy I see here, is the fact that when Jonas returns, he would have to have his name cleared in order to resume his command. As much as Strumfelder may not like it, but perhaps he could be blackmailed into making a small mistake about Jonas and that the "Real" (scapegoat) perpetrator has been caught. So this way, Strumfelder isn't tarnished for being "Wrong".

That's just my brief input on what's been suggested,

Danny, you are the site's admin. Because you are full of epic win and because your opinion is always loved on big site things such as this, you are always welcome to post your thoughts.

Personally, your idea sounds like it would work. Blackmail is unpleasant, yes, but it's a powerful tool that's been used for centuries. It also spices up a plot, since it can hurt one's pride to be blackmailed, and can't hurt pride lead to revenge? Which, in turn, leaves ideas for future plots.

We should try and put Jonas's capture into the plot,

although it doesn't make any sense since he was captured by Strum.

I was going to start the thread where Mac visits Jonas's cell once Chuck's threads are done. But I'm lazy so that might take awhile. Now though I have an idea.

How about once the Epic battle nears it's end Mac shows up and is the one who tell Jonas that he is being released/exchanged or whatever.

So Mac can say, "So it's you. Looks like I'm going to let you go free again."

And then Jonas pulls out the prison arsenal he has been making for the past year and shanks Mac in the stomach repeatedly before diving into a tunnel that leades to the English channel. Sounds good to me.
