Premium Battle Rules & Guidelines!
First of all, this idea was completely suggested by Edward McMillan, so credit should be awarded to his magnificent mind in conjuring this idea up. The following guidelines and rules have been written by myself however.
Description:
The Premium board is a special area, specifically made to add a fog of war to the battle. In normal skirmish battles made by members, the enemy, yourself and anyone else who decides to read the thread, can clearly see enemy positions, units and placements. Apart from small exceptions such as certificated snipers, who are allowed to be concealed throughout the thread (map) until they are compromised.
This area should bring a whole new limelight to the battlefield, tactical planning, caution and realism will undoubtedly be the top priorities to this area. Read the following rules and guidelines for more details.
Rules & Guidelines:
The following rules and guidelines have been consolidated to help you role play in the premium area without fault.
- Firstly, In order to start a battle here, you must PM a staff member with the authority to mod mark and request that a battle may be made upon your behalf in the Premium area. Upon doing so, you must supply the following information;
Battle Size: 1 vs. 1 / 2 vs. 2 / 3 vs. 3 / etc…
You may customize and even do, 1 vs. 2. Your choice.
Reserved Slots: ----
If you already have your team-mates or opposing enemies in mind, a reserve will be made upon their name when the sign-up of the battle has been released. So their slot in the battle is reserved, unless stated otherwise.
Terrain Preferences: Desert / Snow / Greenery / Rough Terrain - You may customize your choice.
Map Size: Small / Medium / Big / Massive
There are no standard scales, so each map could be considered unique.
Disclaimer:
Now you have selected your preferences, you could be asked to pay a small fee. This fee reflects upon the map preferences overall, that you have required. None of this information will be disclosed to any other member and who you choose to tell, is entirely your choice; You will not be able to view the map before the battle has begun and neither will any other opposing forces gain the privilege either, but you do hold a small element of knowing what you would be up against terrain wise.
All requests made for a premium battle do not guarantee a fulfilment and you may only pick one staff member host your battle as the mod marker. At any point during the battle or before, the staff member hosting your battle does hold the right to request a second or third party to help mod mark or pass your request on (so someone else may host your battle) and in doing so, will gain the right of viewing enemy emplacements upon the undisclosed map of the battle. All confidentiality is taken seriously when mod marking these battles, so any leaking of information will be taken seriously and consequences will inevitably follow. - If you haven’t realised by now, the battle maps may only be created by the staff member hosting and mod marking the battle. So any maps sent to the hosting staff member in gesture to use, will be ignored. The reason behind this, is that no one knows the complete terrain of the battle until the battle begins and the map may not be changed or requested to be changed at any point - so what you receive as a map, is what you get.
- Once your request for a battle has been fulfilled, the staff member hosting the battle will host the following information;Battle Name:
(The battle’s name must be unique, not named after a historical battle. Naming a battle after an historical battle, will be giving away too much crucial terrain detail)
Battle Preferences: 1 vs. 1 / 2 vs. 2 / - Etc

Disclaimer:
Upon signing up to any remaining open slots, you abide by the following;
- To be active and any failed posts within a two or three day period without notification of absence, will result in you losing your turn and the next person in the posting order, will be allowed to post. Notification of absence may allow you to keep your turn, so long is it is not over a four or five day period, small exceptions may be allowed.
- Abide by the mod markers’ posts, any complaints should not be posted in the thread, you must PM the staff member and take it up with them. Any ranting during these threads will result in you either losing your next turn or being removed from the battle. I take this seriously and ranting is aggravating for staff members, so any complaints should be posted to them out of the thread and any pointless rants may result in warnings.
- You are not eligible to leave the battle without a posted retreat, unless removed from the battle due to other circumstances that may arise.

[/li][li] Posting Guidelines:
- Once the sign-up thread has been completed, the battle will ensue immediately and all members taking part, will be requested to post as soon as it starts. The opening battle post will be made by the staff member, WITH the blank template of the map included.
- Following the posting order, the member first in line of the posting order should start the first post. It must be introductory with unit emplacements, including the other members and their units, if any brought.
- A copy of the map should strictly be sent to the mod marker via PM, not during your posts!
Any maps accidentally posted during your post, will obviously show your unit locations and reveal your positions to the enemy. No real action can be taken against these mistakes. So be careful.
- When sending a copy of the map to the Mod Marker, you should also forward copies to your following team-mates included in the thread, so they understand your movements on the map.
- At any point during the battle you stumble across the enemy or zone into the range of enemy units, the map will be lit up by the staff member of those particular units that have been found. No other units will show up on the map, unless these too enter the range of the enemy sight and radius.
- Bodies of units should remain on the map with a cross made through them or at least a colour change to the icons. The reason behind this, is that bodies may also provide cover and help tactical planning, to work out how many units have been killed in which areas - hence forth, helping you to understand where strengths of your force should be dedicated or avoided.
[/li][li] Retreating?
- Like any other skirmish battle, you hold the will to retreat at any moment. If successful, the remainder of your healthy forces will also pull back. If the commander during a battle retreats, the entire force will have their morale broken and retreat with you, this includes other member units - unless stated otherwise by the commander.
Example; Commander wishes to retreat, but orders their fellow junior officers to hold out enemy forces whilst he retreats - this order will be automatic and instead of everyone retreating on behalf of the commander, all other member units will remain in the battle, whilst the soul commander is allowed to pull out.
- If you’re a soldier, NCO or Junior Officer (not commanding Officer), retreating on your own accord is eligible, but depending upon circumstances, it could be viewed as cowardice or treason by fleeing from the battlefield… However… If the commander opposes your retreat, they have the choice to punish you or force you to stay in the thread.
- Punishments could be a field demotion, field execution (shot for fleeing/treason). These punishments made by the lead commander must not be abused and any random killing of units or members, will be seen as pathetic and voided; Which may end up with ensuing consequences of your own, on a failure to command.
