Just thought someone would be interested to know that I recently got a picture from my dad's dad's brother, and was surprised to notice that I had seen it before.
It is a group of American and Russian soldiers when they met in Torgau in 1945. They are walking down a street arm in arm alternating US and Soviet. Has anyone seen this? I haven't been able to bring it up though I have seen a thumbnail when image-searching 'Elbe day 1945'.
In the far right of the photo, wearing a tanker uniform and goggles, is my Great-Uncle Bob Schueler.
