The sun was lingering on the horizon, it’s last few precious minutes of heated rays warmed the land of the fatherland, as it gradually crept to it’s slumber for the night ahead. SS-Sturmbannführer Wolfram pulled back his tunic sleeve and twisted his wrist to look at the time on his silver linked watch, noting to himself that the convoy was perhaps five minutes late for it’s arrival; then without further ado, a set of headlights beamed along the quiet silent road leading up to the rendezvous point that he had allocated for the briefing on their raid. It was a nice quiet spot just outside of Berlin and would give them ample time to spring their trap without too much of a surprise to the inhabitants they were going to be rounding up.
Three convoy trucks jiggered to a halt alongside the desolate road and the squad leaders from each truck jumped out, hailing a salute to the SS-Sturmbannführer and gathering before him. “Gentleman, you know why you’ve been summoned tonight. We’re here to take a step further in eradicating the Jewish scum from our lands” the three men murmured a jeer of agreement under their breaths as they listened. “I assume your men have all been fully briefed in the trucks, you will all follow my lead convoy to our designated target location, which I can now reveal is a well established hospital within Berlin” silence soon formed over the squad leaders, as they gave a puzzled and perhaps shocked look amongst themselves. “Have no pity my brethren, for this scum is eating away at our medicine like vermin, when our good soldiers on the frontline need these resources!” the squad leaders nodded, coming around to the idea and logic of why they were about to raid the hospital; a taboo feeling still lingered, but orders were orders.
“We’re already running late. Man your vehicles and follow my lead” the men snapped to attention and gave one last salute, before jogging back off to their truck’s cabs and jumping in. SS-Sturmbannführer Wolfram walked casually back to his own truck ahead of the convoy and climbed into the passenger side, looking to his driver SS-Rottenführer Gerwulf who stubbed out his cigarette and flicked the butt out of the window. “Herr Sturmbannführer!”[/I] he acknowledged, as SS-Sturmbannführer Wolfram got comfortable in his seat. “Drive Gerwulf, the convoy will follow as planned” he simply said, as he began fixing a pair of black leather gloves onto his hands, perhaps subliminally knowing his hands may get dirty tonight.
The convoy travelled for ten minutes, soon arriving at the allocated hospital he’d been tasked with cleaning out the inferiors from. “Stop right outside Gerwulf” he ordered to his driver, who quickly responded with “But, there are vehicles parked there Herr Sturmbannführer”[/I] with a merciless tone, he simply said “Ram them off the road, I don’t care, I want my convoy directly outside that hospital” SS-Rottenführer Gerwulf signed heavily and done as he was told, shunting the truck straight into the rear of the parked vehicle and revving the engine with an almighty roar as he easily forced the parked vehicles forwards and rammed them down the road.
Leaping out of the truck’s cab, SS-Sturmbannführer Wolfram looked to the trucks behind, as soldiers jumped from the back of the trucks and rallied to the front of the hospital. As soon as they were formally lined up somewhat, SS-Sturmbannführer Wolfram turned and walked into the hospital, leading the party of soldiers inside. “Who is in charge here!?” he yelled out into the hospital, looking for someone he can talk too, as he presented a folded piece of paper from out of his tunic pocket, with a distinguishable Reich watermark and header on the paper. “I have a warrant for the arrest of all Jews within this hospital, anyone seen leaving the premises without my personal permission will be shot!” he yelled once again, still looking around for someone to present his orders too within the hospital.
Glancing back to the soldiers who started trundling into the entrance behind himself, he gave them their orders. “Round up the Jews, those able to walk, bring to the front of the building. Those unable to walk, take to the rear of the building - you have your orders” and with that, the soldiers sprung into action, moving out throughout the hospital, ready to segregate the Jewish population from the wounded men and woman.
