Character's Name: Aaron Schellenburg
Rank: Other (Civilian)
Nationality: German
History: Aaron Schellenburg was born on March 12, 1922 in Hamburg, Germany. His father, Alder Schellenburg, was a prosperous German banker. His mother, Elise Schellenburg (nee Kramier) was a housewife of Jewish decent. Aaron lived his childhood with money flowing in the home with abundance and food always on the table, but that all changed when Aaron turned eleven. His father was always a drinker, but it was not severe until he was released form his job, causing his father to drown his sorrows at a local bar, which led to his demise. Aaron's mother was forced to obtain a job, in order to keep money in the home and food on the table. She was eventually able to become a seamstress, but it did not pay enough money to keep their home. Because of this, Elise and her son had to downsize to a cramped one-bedroom apartment, where Aaron and his mother would only live temporarily. When Aaron turned seventeen news of an impeding war circulated and the action to eradicate all Jews took effect. Because of the fear of being discovered, Elise and Aaron relocted once again to the city of Bruges, in Belgium. The family of two continued to reside in a small apartment until they had to move in with friends when Belgium was taken over by the Nazis.
Writing Sample:"I sorry that it is not much.." Elise's friend's husband stated ,as he pulled the string on the hanging light to illuminate to concrete room. "No no.. Its fine, just as long as we can remain here until the end of Nazi occupation." Aaron's mother replied. It was apparent in her aging face that she was worried, scared, and stressed, but Aaron decided not to point that out. He plopped his worn leather suitcase on the dusty floor next to one of the cots. It was pretty small and bland looking, but Aaron was not complaining, he couldn't complain. Her friend's husband talked to his mother about food and water the important stuff. Aaron sat on the stiff cot, watching the man talk to Elise. Minutes later he disappeared up the stairs and into his home. "This will be temporary Aaron... All we can do is wait and pray." Elise turned to face her son, trying to be optimistic about the current situation, but it was falsely glazed over her speech. "I know.. but... I hope this is just temporary." Aaron replied, releasing a rather heavy sigh before reclining on the stiff material.
