Character Name: Cobus Mayer
Rank: Other
Nationality: Dutch, speaks Flemish
History: Born on September 1, 1923, in Ede, Netherlands, Cobus Moshe Mayer was introduced into the family of Kfir and Anika Mayer. His head was thickly covered in mahogany hued hair, and his eyes were the rare color of amber, having a golden hued to them. He had two elder brothers, who both moved out and started their own families. His infant years were pretty easy, in his mind. He had a good family, great health, and amazing intelligence. His first year of school started when he was the age of six. His teacher's were amazed with the smarts of Cobus, giving him higher grade level school work to challenge him. When he was in highschool, Hilter came into power and started to pick away the Jewish people's rights. His parents were starting to get weary about Adolf, talking to Cobus about how before they (The Jewish community) weren't having all of the small rights being taken away. Before long, he had to quit going to school all together to not be taken by the Nazi's. His parents had been looking for a close Christian friend that could help them hide from the Nazi's.
Writing Sample: The morning was humid, quiet, and... different. With eyelids slowly fluttering open, Cobus looked at the wooden beams holding the ceiling up above his family's heads. Moving a tired hand to an eye, he rubbed the sleep out. "Cobus, get out of bed, your dad will be annoyed if you're not up!" hollered Mother as she knocked on the white oak door of the room. "I'm coming, Mother, don't wait!" he replied as the covers were removed forcefully to the side. Swinging his long legs over the side of the bed, Cobus stood up as the lights were turned on over head, "Hurry up! It's six-thirty and you have chores to do." "Great, Dad is in one of his 'get everything done' days," he thought to himself as Mother thrust a pair of clean slacks, a white dress shirt, and black socks at his chest. Groaning sleepily, he nodded and closed the door to change into the day's clothes. After a few minutes of stumbling and changing, Cobus finally got out into the living room just as he was finishing fixing his brunette hued hair. "Breakfast is the usual, butter and toast," Mother said as the wooden boards creaked underfoot. "Great..." the young man murmured as he pulled a chair out from the circular table.
