The evening air on July 1st, 1940 was filled with the scent of alcohol, sweat from previous battles, and summer winds. A man with a blank gaze stared at the fire-like sky. "Sir, Ihr Getränk?" asked a waiter as he held a glass full of ice and alcohol.
"Danke," Keegan replied as he extended his hand to grasp the cool glass. Putting the rim of the glass to his parted lips, the liquid streamed into his mouth. "Ahh, eine pause ist gut für den geist..." he muttered to himself as he looked around the streets.
Sighing quietly, Keegan turned around to go back into the bar, Der Schwartze Ritter, or The Black Night in English.
(OOC: Sorry, Falk. I had brain fart)

It was evening and Friedrich was going to a bar he had bin suggested, he wasn't usually going to drink but he had heard it was a nice place relaxing. Stabbing a man in the chest left its mark on his memory, although he usually just shrugged it off, he wasn't about to make it affect him to much. He arrived at the bar Der Schwartze Ritter, so now for a one man celebration on his promotion, more tasks, more work, Now he had to keep soldiers alive.
He opened the door and walked inside taking off his field cap and stuffed it into his belt before continuing into the bar and walking over to the counter looking down his arm at the new rank and shrugged lightly, sixteen and already transferred to a Shutzstaffel unit and promoted Rottenführer not exactly the thing he had expected. He was very proud but he had hoped just to become kradschützen, or at least another part of motorcycle brigades.
As the bartender came to him with a suspicious look at his face "What can i get you?" The bartender asked and Friedrich shrugged "A light ale and something that can be eaten if you have it..." He said with a tone of being tired, and although the bartender most likely didn't trust him cause of his very young looks he did wear a uniform and had a rank. While Friedrich stood waiting he looked around and spotted another soldier, he considered to go and initiate in a conversation with the man.

Softly dosing off into sleep, Keegan heard the door open. Looking over to the Rottenfuhrer, he straightened his posture and gave him a polite nod.
Doing a quick Nazi salute, Schwarz ran his hand through the wheaten hued hair of his. "Hallo, sir," greeted the Shutze. His tone was heavy with exhaustion and gratefulness that he was home.
Still having his cap on, Keegan quickly drank the rest of his ale. "What brings you to a small pub like this?" he asked as he sat the glass on the bar counter, his sapphire hued eyes lightening up.

Although he was wearing the rank patch of the SS personnel he made a Wehrmacht salute, mostly cause of old habit, well not that old. He was very amused to see how the man quickly corrected his posture, the rank between them wasn't that different and this man was obviously older then him.
He ran a hand through his blond hair as he smiled faintly for a moment at the man who called him sir. "No need to call me sir... I'm only Rottenführer" He said with a polite tone, very calm. He quickly noticed the man's rank before receiving his ale from the bartender and giving him a polite nod before taking a sip from the bottle.
As he was asked why he was on a small pub he shrugged and pulled on his shoulders "Celebrating my promotion... Went from Kradschütze to Rottenführer thanks to one lucky battle" He said with a silent shrug thinking of what this would mean in the future. "How about you? Not usual many soldiers drink alone" He said trying to initiate in conversations with this man.

Hearing the question, Keegan shrugged slightly and offered a small smile, "I don't have any friends here..." His tone was offering the slightest hint of loneliness, but his expression wasn't give anything away.

He shook his head with a light amused smile at this man "No friends? Sounds very lonely indeed... Though we could have a drink together, Herr Soldat... Don't think I'm going to leave soon... " He said with with a polite tone before he took another drink from his ale, thinking where this man was from, although most seemed the same if it wasn't for their unit patches, of cause SS was more obvious them having a giant 'SS' symbol in the collar of their uniform, and the rank on the other side which on Friedrich was two lines.
He took out the coins he had gotten as pay for his work counting some of it "I can buy you first ale... as a kind of friendly gesture, Herr Soldat." He said before pocketing the coins again waiting for the respond from the man who's name he still didn't know, although it was necessary he was in a friendly mood. As well as him feeling something amusing about a younger person buying alcohol for an older man if he even accepted it was another question though. "Just remember we can't have to much..." He said with pondering tone while he looked into the air for a moment before returning his gaze to the soldier.
"Where you from in Germany?" He asked curiously to the soldier, It wasn't a needed question but was the best he could do at the attempt to start a small-talk with his new found comrade, as long as he wasn't from Lübeck and didn't know his father it was all good, the worst that could happen would be meeting a family friend or even worse one of his brothers.

Nodding his head slowly, Keegan offered a soft smile, which showed his rather sharp fangs, "No friends is right... It's just harder to find happiness under Hitler's rule with no one to talk to."
Hearing that the other man was offering to buy him an ale, the Private couldn't pass it up, "I'd love to have one more... And thank you for the offer." His tone had a hint of thankfulness to it.
"Oh, I remember," Keegan replied to the quiet comment made by Friedrich. After the question of about where he was from in Germany, he decided to give him a brutally honest answer, "I'm from a very small town of Flensburg, a population of only about...A couple thousand, I think."

He nodded "Well then...An ale for my comrade[/b]" He said to the bartender before looking back at the private and gave him a polite nod "You make yourself sounds to anti-government... Though I'd say it isn't hard to find friends... Maybe you just don't try hard enough? he said thinking that it hadn't been hard for him, not even while he was Wehrmacht, not even now, though whether he was going attempt to make friends or just another acquaintance.
he nodded as the man mentioned Flensburg, a city he knew to well being from Schleswig-Holstein himself, although he knew that it wasn't a very small town. "Now I know of a Flensburg which is on the Danish-German border... but that has some couple of ten thousands population... I'm from Lübeck myself" He was certain that this person didn't know his family, at least he had never seen him before so he could only hope it wouldn't be good having a family friend running around, or a person knowing his real age at least.
He handed the soldier his ale "There you go Herr Flensburg." He spoke with a polite tone, and remembered how the last SS'er he had met had acted cause he was in the Wehrmacht, which again made him think how odd it was he had bin transferred into an SS regiment. "Für das Vaterland" He said as a cheers before drinking some of his ale.
