I was browsing the IO Wiki and straight away noticed that it hasn't been updated for a very long time, if only the board rankings have been updated and that's a shame to see.
Are there any intentions on keeping the Wiki updated or is it now just a milestone of history for IO?
It's all great to have the IO Wiki, but I think it would be more commonly updated and read if we had a category or board on the forum where all that stuff was just added into threads. Either by the staff or everyone.
I would read it and add threads myself if it were on the forum to read and update. Just my penny's worth, random idea.
Edit - Example:[/B] Thought I would give an example of what I meant.
CATEGORY: ISSUING ORDERS HISTORY
BOARDS: Member Story History I see something called episodes on the wiki, the same could be added here or general story plots for people to read that have occurred.
NPC History Have threads for all the important NPCs with their history and maybe a BIO for them?
RANKINGS We could have the board rankings, international rankings and other rankings here. Maybe SKILL rankings too now? People with the most skill points and stuff.

I used to edit it like crazy, but real life kept me from practising my Wiki skills and I can't code worth a darn anymore. I would go and do some more updating, but I don't have the time or the patience.

^^^ Just edited my post above ^^^
Yeah I agree Addie, it is a shame. Maybe my idea above would give people more incentive to make threads and stuff on the forum instead for IO history to be added.

Anymore thoughts on my suggestion above? The IO Wiki goes unnoticed, I still think it would be a wise move to have it placed onto the forum, where everyone could read articles and add their own. Be far more noticed in my opinion.

I know little about coding, but I enjoy writing, and am always looking for ways to help to community. If you or anyone else is up for it, I'll gladly help write articles and do research.
If you guys want to have a go at the wiki, then by all means go ahead. I dont think access is restricted except for thr rankings page. Everything else is fair game.
I think what Gero is saying Heiko, he'd like something similar to the IO Wiki on the forum instead. It's an interesting idea, he does have a point that having it upon the forum would mean everyone would view it and add articles more frequently, but I'm still on the bench with this idea.
Firstly, a sufficient amount of work would be required to copy/create all outstanding articles and secondly, once a member starts a new thread it won't be editable by anyone else than that member (or staff member) which could raise a few problems if someone wishes to add or edit things to a specific thread.
All that said however, it's still an interesting idea and we're fast approaching five years IO has been around, it would be nice to have some history preserved on IO for everyone to read and create.
Depending where everyone else stood on this concept of having an on forum history area, we could see about forming something... Perhaps. ~Danny

YES! Punk understands me. I'm not really talking about getting the Wiki active again (as much as that would be nice to see), I'm more talking about bringing the Wiki onto IO! Have a board created that would house the historical threads and member biographies we have on the Wiki page. I was suggesting this, because not many people use the Wiki and if you're unfamiliar to the Wiki's layout like me, you find it a bit difficult to navigate.
If we had somewhere on the forum we could base our historical threads for all to read, I think we would get a lot more people reading them and creating them. In other words, the concept of IO history will be restored and archived once more! Rather than being forgotten. :S
Am I making sense now?

I understand what your saying Gero, I'm down to help with that. I think it would be really cool if we had something to go back too, and see the history of everything the site has had.
