Italians start on the bottom of the map, facing east.
The trench comes up to about 5 feet high, with the dirt they are high enough to shoot over but still have plenty of cover.
Umm.. During the siege of Tobruk, it was the Allies defending and Axis besieging the territory. Not that it really matters on the forum, because a majority of all battles here are entirely fictional, but if you wanted a more factual battle, then it should be the other way around.

EDIT: I have decided to change it to the Second Battle of El Alamein. This would result in a much more factual battle, as the 7th AD did fight the 185th during the Second Battle of El Alamein.

I would like to participate in this battle, but I do need to get some CP. I'll probably be closing them soon so just hang tight. I'm also open to another brit joining me..
