* SCENARIO (Read very carefully) *

You’ve been assigned with three men to infiltrate and gather intelligence from a nearby enemy base, but the only means of accessing this small camp secretly, is transport via’ the sea and finding a suitable means of access through the beachhead. The intelligence you’re aiming to gain has been narrowed down into two categories, detailed report of the camp’s findings and documentation (Paperwork) within the camp, that must either be copied or stolen; if possible.

Upon your journey to the rendezvous point, one of the soldiers placed beneath your command suddenly became unwell upon the strenuous journey and morbidly slipped into a seizure; under control and calmed, it was too late to return the soldier back to Allied Soil, so as planned and ordered, the mission continued and surprisingly, your unit arrived three whole hours earlier than scheduled!

I must say that is quite a scenario you have created for this test, I hope I don't fail you, but I will probably not finish too quickly either.

Questions:
1 How many men can use the blanket to keep warm at a time?

ANSWERS:
1. A single blanket, one man or maybe two.
2. Yes, all men can use the rappel, one by one.
3. The compound is only one camp of many upon the beach-front, so yes.
4. Retreat and call in Artillery? Your Data would be lost. Your men are Experienced Infantryman, hand-picked for the job, not special opps sadly. You're on a Recon Mission, with bonuses let's say.
5. Yes, you have arrived 3hrs early by luck. You have been ordered/advised to infiltrate at dusk/sunset for best effect. So whether you follow that line of routine or infiltrate earlier, is entirely your choice, you have arrived 3hrs earlier and how or what you do with this time is entirely your choice.

Well here we go, let's hope I can pull this off, not knowledgeable on the amphibious stuff, but I'm gonna try.

Question:
Arriving three whole hours early, what would you and your men do with the extra time? (Detailed description please)

First off I believe we may be able to be spotted where we are currently located (if not then just disregard the moving part, don't know any distances) so the first thing I would do with my three hours would be to move all men, including the unwell and the dingy to the edge of the cliff, the dingy will be turned upside down and burried, the unwell man will remain under it with his boots proping up the side closest to the ocean for air and help battle what clostriphobia might set in. The three well men will then procede to locate a safe entry point to climb the small cliff and leave the rappel there, burried, for use when the operation begins. The unwell man will not be joining us until our departure so almost all of his ammo will be redistributed to the rest of the men, he will be left with his pistol and one magazine only, might be harsh but he knew what he was getting himself into when he chose this career field. With what reamining time there may be, I would precede to keep the men calm and thier heads clear, we would check all of out gear to make sure it is operational. If at all possible we would try as best we could to create a SALUTE report but it would more than likely be incomplete until operation completion.

Your Sick unit is slowly awakening, orders for him would be to…?

Stay in his location, fire only as a last resort, become captured and don't give us up, leave most of the morphine with him, just to keep him quiet and he can stick himself if he is gonna get captured, just to help buy the rest of us some time before they start "interrogating" him.

If the Tide draws in fast and threatens to push your Dingy further inland, your actions would be…?

Well hopefully it is still burried and I won't have that issue, being that it would be next to the cliff, but if it arrises, let it move it, maybe it could cause a distraction so we may complete our objectives a little more easily while they are checking it out. But I don't think it would move, being burried and having a mna inside to keep it steady.

UNIT #2 is becoming restless and nervous from the waiting, how would you react?

Calmly. Talking to him to try and settle his nerves. Letting him know that this will all be over and we will be outta here way before the sun comes up.

UNIT #1 thinks he’s heard something suspiciously close, what would be your reaction/order?

I'm assuming we have not gone into the instalation yet. We would try our best to become part of the cliff itself, he is to watch for what was making the noise, he heard it, he is the only one that knows anything about it, he knows what it sounded like and it's possible location.

One of the men’s shoes and socks are soaking wet, how do you deal with the problem, if at all?

He then gets the unwell man's boots and socks, he won't be wearing them anyway, they will be holding up the Dingy. Have to keep your feet in as good shape as possible.

NO!!!! I would put it out immediately. Light discipline (along with noise discipline) is a must, no one is to smoke, and I will probably get in his face when we are all back to base and safe about it.

I hope they scream as loud as possible and for as long as possible, gives us a better chance of moving around undetected.

The sun is beginning to set and things are becoming chilly, how would you keep warm?

Well the unwell man is under the Dingy and his body heat is mostly going to be trapped in there, so he should be fine, the rest of us would take turns using the balnket for a few minutes at a time, 10 tops, if possible have two use it at once, stay close for warmth, the odd man/men out keep watch until we move in.


Priorities:
-Keep unwell soldier, as well as possible, not really any better way to put it.
-make sure all gear is working and redistribute ammo to the men that will need it possibly.
-Gather any visual intel we can, entry point, enemy numbers, enemy equipment, PATTERNS of enemy movement.
-Once we get in, gain as much intel as possible, even if it is more than we need.
-Try our best to operate undetected.

I don't figure we are to take this place out or cause any complications, other than takeing the intel. If so, I will need to change a lot of this stuff, if you don't mind

Answers & Alterations you could’ve made.

Question 1; Nailed it. Correct - Better than what I expected.[/b]
- You would indeed move up the beach to the rock face, as it’s double the height of an extremely tall man (15ft) and would provide sufficient cover.
- Deflate or Bury Dingy, you done better by using it to protect your sick unit too.
- Distribute spare ammo, you done this.
- SALUTE report is what I was looking for also, mainly RECON on patrols and numbers. This is something you could’ve spared a little extra time for, using your two healthy men.
- Finding a quiet infiltration point, you spotted this.

Question 2; Correct![/b]
- Order him to sit-out the mission and Guard the Dingy.
- Optional, but give him Medical Supplies too. Which you have appointed.

Question 3; Correct![/b]
- Your Dingy shouldn’t be floating inland/outland in the first place!
- From the beginning, you should’ve buried/deflated it, you’ve shown this.

Question 4; Correct![/b]
- Although silence is a key, talking and communicating is essential for morale.
- You could’ve also questioned him upon his part to foreplay in the mission, having nervous or fidgety subordinates should always keep their mind on the task at hand, so reminding them of their job is essential too.

Question 5; Correct![/b]
- Ordering the unit to stay alert is correct, but if you knew the general patrol patterns, then the noise shouldn’t be a big worry, as it could’ve been something other than’ a guard.

Question 6; Correct![/b]
- Using the unwell man’s clothing is essential for the healthier units.

Question 7; Correct![/b]
- Yes, smoking is prohibited during remaining silent.

Question 8; Correct![/b]
- The screaming is an aspect you should note, but do nothing about. It’s essential to note all enemy activity, who knows, a POW camp could be nearby!?
- The noise also acts as an extra camouflage when infiltration begins, as you suggested.

Question 9; Correct![/b]
- You would take turns on monitoring the enemy, being on guard, whilst at least two people huddle together for warmth. Without fire or shelter, it’s essential body warmth is preserved!


Priorities; Correct![/b]
- Monitor enemy patrols! With the three hours bonus, it’s essential you note all regular enemy movement!
- Find ENTRY POINT! Negotiate an infiltration point.
- All units have ‘DRY’ and ‘WORKING’ weaponry - Map/Compass is essential for finding your way home, so these should be kept safe.
- Sick Unit is Optional, you should try your best to look after them and nothing more.

SCENARIO UPDATE:[/B]

You’ve been FOUND! The mission was too risky and the lack of intelligence on the area has now cost you and your men the unfortunate billing of being interrogated. You didn’t really know what you was looking for in detail (only that it were documentation of some kind), there are too many unorthodox patrols (random patrols), there seems to be strange occurrences from one of the buildings and further more; the whole mission was ludicrous from the beginning when you lost a man due to sickness!

Sitting tied to a chair, in a separate room from your comrades, you’re now being asked these following questions - Reply wisely;

( I understand you’re going for a Infantryman Certification and Interrogation most likely looks like it has nothing to do with this, but as VETERAN Infantryman, this tests your experience, cooperation with the enemy and how you’d deal with a life threatening situation; not just for your own life, but those of your men - Best of luck)

You've Nailed it Again, I guessed you would nail this part of the Cert, I did mention it was the easier of the three. However, this part was only created for the final part (connects the two main scenario parts).

But yes, the Answer is;
- You only supply your NAME/RANK/NUMBER. No matter what.

This part of the Cert was bit of a catch 21, just wanted to see if you would actually try to answer the questions or copy/paste your same answer for them all, which is what I was looking for. Just Name/Rank/Number.

The final Cert part I've been debating on changing - if it were lower than VET' Infantryman, I would've supplied you with troops for this final part, but I've decided to make it a little more difficult.

(Depending whether you’ve passed or failed the second part of this test, you will now either be WOUNDED or HEALTHY for the final amendment.)

All alone in the room, you have been able to work yourself free from the chair; luckily for you, the Interrogator left your COLT 45. On the table, a compass & map with your knife, your STEN SMG however, was taken away. Now equipped with a handgun and knife, you were easily able to pride the back window open within your makeshift cell (interrogation room) and slip out back… However… When taken prisoner, you didn’t manage to see where you was being taken, so now the place is totally different!

You have also been supplied with 4 different escape points/tools, you may pick more than one if necessary for the escape, but explain why within your answers below.
They are the following;

• POINT A: a soldier has started to load a transport truck with crates.
  
• POINT B: a small dense woodlands.

I'm sorry, it's not as hard as it looks. Feel free to ask anything!
You know your men are being kept in the same building, so it's a choice of going back for them, or make a dash...

I just realised too, I forgot to add the "SMALL BROWN RECTANGLES" to the key. They're meant to be 5ft wooden fence/s. I'll add it to the key if it helps? Otherwise, that's what they are.

I kind of figure you can't give me too much on this question, but I'm still gonna ask, you probably won't give me specifics but the interrogation building, is it like filled with Germans, or is there like only one or two? Are my men in a cell that I would need to get a key for?

OOC: Ignore the other numbers I have placed on the map, I thought I might need to mark more guards and forgot to remove them.

Well either way I have decided that it is information that I unfortunately do not need. In the map, the blue lines I have added are my movement and the yellowish lines are for thrown objects.



As much as this goes against my ethics and morals it is unfortunately what I must do. I would have to make the hard decision of leaving the rest of my team behind. This enemy installation, as far as I am able to figure out, is unknown to the Allies. The confirmation of it's existence to the Allies is unfortunately more important that the lives of my men. Although I am in unfamiliar terrain and the aid of the rest of my team would be a great benefit to make it back to an Allied controlled area, I believe that there is no way I can get to them and set them free without the high risk of none of us making out, alive even.

As you can see in the map I move and I throw. I watched the guards to get a handle on their movement patterns by peering around the corner for number one and by looking through the alley way for number two. The object I am throwing is a live round out of my pistol magazine, seeing as it was the most readily available item. The objective of such an action is to distract the guards so that their back is to me when I make my maneuver. While the guard is facing away I rush him from behind.. The first thing of mine that comes in contact with the guard is my knife, through the kidney with a slight twist. This has been proven to immediately put a human being into shock therefore being unable to react or scream. After handling guard marked number one, I would then drag his body to a location to be out of sight, more than likely between buildings four and five. Then repeat the process for guard two, not having to drag his body as far. The guards at the main gate would more than likely have their focus elsewhere.

Coming up on the fence, I would peer through for a while to notice that there is a guard a few feet away and that I can not see any others. With the same movement, minus the throw for the distraction, after scaling the fence slowly and quietly, I neutralize guard number three, as he slowly slips into the warm bath of shock. From there it would not be to difficult to tell that I would be pretty much home free, well at least from this installation. Patrols would be a different story, but I'm sure it would come in handy to take a uniform with me, not to mention the weapons and ammo I would have acquired.

Might not be what you were looking for and it is not what I want to do, leaving my men behind and all, but I have to do what is best for the success of the war for the Allies.

(Really sorry I haven't been online, doesn't seem to matter about answering your question/s now, but again, I would've added extra time due to my in-activeness of life killing my time)

Edward, Scott, McMillan - Your final results are the following;

PART 1: PASS / No Failed Questions, Few extra Alterations could've been made
PART 2: PASS / Flying Colours
PART 3: PASS / Small Alterations, but Flying Colours

You made the correct decision; You would leave your comrades behind.
- 3/4 (if you counted the sick unit) would be greatly out-numbered against a whole compound of enemies, more if other compounds are alerted immediately.

You also got the escape Scenario precisely correct!
- You would indeed take POINT B.
- On your stealthy navigation to POINT B, you would certainly have to neutralize all three units, two patrolling and one standing guard. The use of throwing bullet shells however, is an extra added bonus I didn't foresee, but using this technique is half and half in my eyes.

Some guards are highly strung and the noise of the bullet cascading on the ground, could have them facing you if you wasn't careful... So although it was a very tactical thought to make such movements to distract the guards, it could, POSSIBLY, have the opposite reaction. Particularly to those a little more experienced. None the less, great move to distract the guard/s - I'm just being critical, because your Cert is so perfect.

- Although it wasn't mentioned, what you would do next when at your escape point, you could've possibly mentioned the use of having a MAP and COMPASS to aid you when escaping through the woodlands. Again, this is a minor point to raise.
