It has come to my knowledge that people find my certifications quite easy in comparison to JT’s, so I’ve upped my game and expect harder answers from here on out. Do your research.

The following are an outlay of questions designed to test your German Infantryman Knowledge and appointing yourself for the Skilled Infantryman[/color] Certification, you will be tested at a Moderate to High level of expertise. Once you have read this outline, you may begin answering the questions immediately - as you have already PM’d me requesting for your Certification to be posted as soon as possible (before 26th January the max, correct?).

So your time has already begun; 120hrs to Answer everything (Five Days exactly)

Rules:
Apart from the usual of completing all questions within their allotted time, you must try to abide by the following also.

• Do not ask me any questions regarding this Cert. I will not provide hints or tips.
  
• You will have to do your research and I expect each answer to be answered in detail.
  Write as much as you feel you must have too.
  
• Diagrams may be used for reference, but they do not answer the question for you, so everything must be written out by your own hands.
  
• You must achieve well over the passing rate of 50% to 70% to pass this certification.

Best of luck, these questions may be difficult and some may be easy, but you’re going for an intimidate rank so expect the best of both worlds. These questions are more than eligible to being answered via’ the computer, so don’t think I’ve used unknown material or false facts.

The Answers, Herr Wolfram:

Question 1 – Stripping Down an MP40

1) Remove the magazine, ensuring the bolt is all the way forward
2) Unscrew the Barrel Nut, and remove the barrel, being careful not to drop anything (Sling Loop & Washer)
3) Use long-nosed pliers to remove the Detonator Pin from the chamber
4) Grip the Detonator Chamber with the pliers, and remove it from the barrel
5) Pull the locking spring downwards and twist it half a turn to move it into release position. Turn the locking ring
6) Grip the Upper Receiver around the magazine well in one hand, and the pistol grip in the other. Squeeze the trigger and twist the Upper Receiver clockwise until the rear sight touches the lower receiver side
7) Pull the Upper Receiver away from the Lower Receiver
8) Grip the cocking handle and pull it along the slot. The Bolt and Recoil Tube will now be removed.

The weapon is now stripped, ready for cleaning and lubrication. Re-assembling is near enough the reverse of this process.

Question 2 - Recognising an MP40/MP38
- Folding shoulder stock
- Made only of metal and plastic
- Hooded front sight
- “MP40” or “MP38” marking
- Fixed and Folding open rear sight

Question 3 – Karbiner 98k Recognisation
- Nazi eagle/swastika emblem
- “Mod 98” marking on the left receiver wall
- Open ‘v’ notch leaf rear sight

Question 4 – Tellermine
- Tellermine 29 detonation weight – either 125KG or 45KG, depending on fuse
- Tellermine 35 detonation weight – 90-180KG
- Tellermine 42 detonation weight – 100-180KG
- Tellermine 43 detonation weight – 100-180KG
- Surface – The mine could be used on many hard surfaces where armour could traverse, and could be modified with pots to be used underwater and on beaches. It was usually buried about a centimetre under the surface that ruled out some surfaces (roads etc.)

Question 5 – Walther P38
- Lanyard Hook – left grip
- Slide Stop – roughly centre above the trigger finger guard
- Barrel Retaining Pin – at the front of the pistol, just in front of where the ‘P38’ marking is

Question 6 – Magazine Parts
- Karbiner 98k, but these parts are common in many other rifles, including the AK-47

Question 7 – Porcelaine Ball and Cord
- Model 24 Stielhandgranate, the two parts being used to activate the fuse before throwing

Question 8 – Osnaburg
- Used to conceal the helmet, usually from the air, but it disrupts it in all circumstances. Foliage can also be slipped between these bands to add camouflage.

Question 9 – Weapon Parts
- 8cm Heavy Mortar, Model 34

Question 10 – MG34
- 15,000 Feet maximum range, however accuracy is very limited at this range, even with a telescopic scope and tripod

Stripping.—First, be sure that the gun is unloaded and uncocked. Pull out the locking pin (see fig. 10(1)) located on the bottom front portion of the receiver behind the magazine well, and turn the pin a little to keep it unlocked. Grasp the barrel with the left hand and the pistol grip with the right; press the trigger, and at the same time turn the receiver in a counterclockwise direction, holding the magazine housing in its normal position (see fig. 10(2)). It will then be possible to separate the receiver from the barrel and from the magazine housing. Remove the bolt and recoil spring from the receiver by means of the operating handle. The recoil spring may be removed from the telescoping recoil-spring housing.
