The sweet smell of victory, had it's pungent after taste, the bitter taste of losses and the blood shed from both sides to take over Smolensk had been indeed a crushing defeat to the Russians and a powerhouse victory for the Reich. Scanning the immediate area around himself, Rudolf could only see smoldering boulders, that were once buildings, overturned cars and overall debris from the Panzers, Russian tanks and pieces of Luftwaffe and Russian planes littered the entire area. Rudolf along with his division had just arrived in an armored vehicle to supervise and label the prisoners of war, the civilians who did not have time to get out in time, and any stragglers, of course with the assistance of the military police.
Rudolf jumped out of the armored car, donned in his traditional Waffen SS uniform, the all gray uniform, with the cap wit the 3rd SS Division, Totenkopf skull and cross bones and his 2nd lieutenant insignia neatly on either side of his shoulder. Rudolf could not help but wonder how the filthy communists could withstand the Panzer onslaught that had bombarded them for the past 10 days. With that Rudolf immediately recognized the insignia of the Feldgendarmerie from his insignia on his shoulder and approached him. "Grüße,ich glaube, Sie haben Dateien zum Nachgeben zu meiner Division. Ich werde durch sie zu lesen und die Waffen-SS Basis in diesem Gebäude da drüben vorübergehend zu etablieren." Rudolf pointed lazily to the building to which the armored vehicle was parked in front of.
Das ist sehr gut, wir haben eine große Menge von russischen Kriegsgefangenen, können Sie einen Blick auf, wenn Sie möchten?" The Feldgendarmerie officer replied. Rudolf reached into his coat, and extracted a steel lighter with the swastika insignia painted elegantly with the German eagle and a pack of cigarettes and lit one as he allowed himself to be lead by the Feldgendarmerie officer towards a small building on the next street. On the ground were over fifty or so Russian soldiers all tied up, some bleeding profusely, other had a defiant look on their face. The sight of them made Rudolf sick. Rudolf was soon joined by his own platoon, who quickly went about frisking and confiscating any possession they had on them, that would be divided between himself and his men later. Rudolf then after the preliminary search spoke in his very upper class German, "Gibt es irgendwelche deutschen Referenten unter euch?" No one spoke, to Stephan annoyance. Rudolf then motioned for one of the members of his divisions to come forward and had him translate that he was going to ask each of them to come into his office, one at a time for background check and a physical check. As in Rudolf was going to find out one way or another if any of them were Jews or homosexuals one way or another. With that Rudolf flicked his cigarette at one of the prisoners smirked and walked into the building as his troops began to haul the prisoners like cattle.

Greetings, I believe you have files to yield over to my division. I will read through them and will establish the Waffen SS base in that building over there temporarily.
That's very good, we do have a large amount of Russian prisoners of war, you could have a look at, if you would like?
Are there any German speakers amongst you?
