Pacific Theatre!

I was just wondering, are you guys working on making a pacific front or plan too?

If you did, I'm sure it would get a lot of attention.

Short answer, no.

Long answer, adding the Pacific would essentially bifurcate this site. Units from the Pacific War and the European/African War very rarely, if at all met. Hence, whilst at the moment all of the characters on the site can justify being involved with each other (some more of a stretch than others), there would be no way to have current characters involved in the Pacific and vice versa.

Also, we would need to add a whole new nationality, and probably implement navies, landing craft, etc.

Whilst it's a nice idea, this site has been built around the Western part of WW2, and the Pacific can't fit in too well with what we currently have here.

In short, like Nathan said, the Pacific Theatre would require a large summary of the following aspects:

• New hostile areas; lots of them.
  
• New Nationalities (Japanese mainly).
  
• New weaponry/equipment/vehicles/aircrafts for various nationalities.
  
• Boats/ships/destroyers - etc - will have to be created.
  
• New U.S Marine ranks (plus Japanese and naval ranks)
  
• Etc...
  

Overall, it would consume to be a very large update and because it was an entirely separate theatre of war, it would clash hugely with the European theatre of war we currently have created.

For all purpose, a new forum or disciplined split on the site would have to occur, so this update could ever function properly. By a split, I mean a literal separation on the forum, where Germans/British and most European nationality members will not be allowed upon the Pacific orientated boards and even American members either - considering they're not U.S Marines.

So ideally, it would fracture the forum we have currently created or a new forum would have to be created for this update to exist. We have considered it, we have debated it and for now, it's an update we're not prepared to undertake at this time.
