How did you find Issuing Orders?

I'm curious to know how you all found this site. I want to find out where we should concentrate our advertising and this is an easy way to find out. It doesn't matter if you have been a member since the start, just post here saying how you found the site. PBS, CF, Obeying Orders, etc.

If I remember correctly, it was "RPG Circle" I was on another site that had their add, went there, they host a lot of site banners. Searched around for combat oriented ones and here I am today

I was planning to a thread like this at some point, but Dan here had to go reading my mind....

I was a member of another Issuing Orders that didn't really get anywhere (Dan might remember Braden?), but when advertising for it on Proboards support, Danny happened to post in the thread. I followed the link to Obeying Orders, but it seemed a bit out of my depth, so I steered clear for a while. So then in March I get this erge to RP, so I hunt down OO, to find that it's moved to this place. So I sign up as von Namur, and I guess you know the rest of my checked past....

Well the basic part is that Doc got me to join, so I guess you should advertise there...

What happened was that he told me that he had helped in making a different site on about July 4. I joined there and began RPing for a while. That site really slowed down when school began, so I went on a search for some more RPG sites and Doc told me he was part of this one. So, yeah I made an application and started here.

Well... I started looking for a World War Two RPG in June and I found winter's site. It was finally me that suggested he get rid of the green text. Anyway, I spent some time there as Dietrich von Bodenberg, got a staff assignment. I was then sent to spy and steal from Issuing Orders for the miserable prick. Soon, I decided that this place was much better and I tried to crash Winter's site and I deleted my accounts. Now, I'm here as I am.

Well the story of how I found Issuing Orders starts with a nice and now defunct Issuing Orders I was on. It was dying fast and someone posted a link to their Issuing Orders, and I went and joined it before I realized that it just a copied version of the dying site, but for idiots. I never did anything there for months but last week I was cleaning out my bookmarks and clicked on it and found someone linking to Winter's site but then someone else saying how they copied from here, so I came here.

Well we're glad to have you on board.
Unfortunately, a lot of people find Winter's bootleg website, before this one. So, a majority of the members find themselves caught up in what's become bit of a feud between the two websites.

The only person to blame is "Austin", AKA; Winters, who copied this website on grounds of being a what I like to call, a spoilt brat. He wanted everything for his character fast and within minutes, he didn't once want to earn himself anything - bit of an errand boy and nagger.

Anyway, it's his own look out. Welcome again.

Yeah, when Doc was playing on Winters' site I was a little nosy and i asked him what it was, and he told me to join and find out. So i joined Winters' site. I had fun for small RPing, and knowing Doc he came here and guess what...........I was nosy again and he told me to join this site. So I joined here with John Howard. I was RPing on Winters' site and IO. When a big thing began and i was not getting my Kurt Ziesal character accepted into a unit for some reason. And soon a big ordeal came up and i left here and was banned. So i made my own site and started RPing on it and was RPing on Winters' site. Soon I was getting a little bored because on Austin's site I was one of the original guys and i was a Private. And he started putting people as Sergeants, Captains, and other ranks that were higher than me, and they had worse writing. So I still have an account on Austin's site but i havent gone there in about 2-4 weeks. So I came back here and now im RPing again.

PS- I did not state bad things about Austin because I wouldnt know him like you. I had been on his site and didnt really care I just wanted to RP, but as I said once his site was starting to go slowly I came back here.

I respect you for holding some dignity on that matter, everyone knows I'm not the greatest of buddies with "Austin", but the feeling's mutual and I've checked up on his website frequently to make sure he hasn't copied anymore content - I can quite proudly say, he has left this place alone.

In return, I can only ask people here just leave him alone.
Other than that, that's all I can do. We've had our "battles" and arguments, but now it's all over and personally, I'd rather just enjoy this place for the reasons why I created it in the first place. I didn't make it to start a whole war...

Anyway, glad you're back and let old times be old times.
I just realised you haven't got any insignia either - I'll edit that in for you in a moment and perhaps you could RP with my medical account sometime? Peter. You're both the same rank, sure you'd get on well.

I'm pleased to hear that the old dog lies. (lol...cheesy old saying that nobody will understand ) I started RPing right in the midst of that arguement. It's great to hear that it's all over, now I can see what it's like to RP without a schism going on.

I can just say that I'm happy that it didn't get too large and engulf one of the sites. Thanks PuNk!

I found Obeying Orders through a friend on the website, then when that closed down and moved here, I moved with it. Been here just as long as Punk I'd like to think, sort off.

I found this site through winters site. I think more people find winters site first because if you type in "WW2 role playing forum" in to google, as i did, then the first result is a link to a thread were winters is advertising his site. Sadly its not advertised as "pathetic copy of the original" ;D
