For me, the Battle of Waterloo was amazing. How Napoleon lost his war with Britain and his conquest of Europe. The British held one hill, and he lost because he never believed he could win. The Prussians also helped in his defeat, but it was mainly a win for the British because he failed to use his forces well.
Also, the Battle of Berlin is interesting to me. Has ther ever been a time when a leader of a country challenged his generals to be the first to place a flag on the capitol of another nation? Think about that one.
The genarals did not make a cock-up there tough. They were ambushed by Thousands (Rumoured to be over a million) Persian soldiers. Not the Spartan's fault.

The spartans weren't ambushed they were holding a great defensive position between two mountains. it was only an ambush after the spartans forgot to guard a path that went behind their defense and the persians used it. So it sort of was the spartans fault.

Historical Battle Question: Can anyone tell me how the 3ID3AD got the name "Rock of the Marne"? I know, but do you?

They were renowed for holding a river (The Marne) in France during WW2, when all the other units around them were falling back. They stood their ground for a good while, and thus earned their nick-name "Rock of the Marne".
A battle that astouned me was the Allied Offensive of the Argonne Forest (October 1918). In this battle one American battalion went in charged across two trenches with around 600 men. For 7 days they fought while being surrounded. On October 6 or 7 they were reached by the rest of the division. They walked out of the forest with less than 200 men. The commander of the unit; Major Whitlsey was promoted and won the Congressional Medal of Honor. The XO of the battalion won the MoH. The Major later comitted suicide thinking that all the who died, died because of him. PunK! what was the Dunkirk book you read called??
Also does anyone here know the nick name of the U.S. 2nd Armoured division off the top of there head? Does anyone one know what the 82nd Airborne nick name was off the top of there head???
