Everyone was starting to lose it. Some fof the men had slipped away unnoticed in the confusion. Now Stabsgefreiter Homrighausen took off his helmet and sat on the ground. He ran his hands through his blond slick hair and a tear trickled off of his cheek. "We won't make it out of here." One of the men who were in a position pointing their K98k in the general direction of the enemy looked back at Homrighausen. Freidrich, who was staning a few feet away from Homrighausen, walked over to him quickly and spoke. "Listen to me Karl. You have children, yes?" The man nodded. "Now you have a reason to fight. Don't you want to see them, hold them? Don't you want to kiss your wife's lips one more time?" The Stabsgefreiter looked at Freidrich and choked out a few words. "Yes...yes I do. I...I cannot command these men to their deaths, though." He said stammeringly. "Then let me command them to life." Freidrich said as he put a hand on the man's shoulder. "Okay Blutstein, okay." He stood up and put his helmet back on. "As of now, you will all take orders from Stabsgefreiter Blutstein."
"Why, he did not help us when we needed it?" One of the few men left said. Blutstein walked up to him, the man took a step back. "Listen to me friend. Do you have a family?"
"Yes."
"Do you want to see them again?"
"Of course."
"You know the Fatherland does not accept traitors and cowards back. If you do not wish to fight for me or Hitler or anyone in this military then fight for your family. All of you, you must all fight for your families and loved ones if you ever wish to see them again." Freidrich said while turning to the other men as he said his last sentence. Some of them nodded and murmured in agreement. "Okay, Stabsgefreiter, we will fight for our families." One of them said.
Freidrich nodded and started giving out orders. "Stabsgefreiter, take care of that man. Freidrich said pointing at the wounded man. "You two, take cover on the left side of the building. The one who is in the front give me updates one the movements in the building to the left and the other keep an eye on the far left side. Felix, you and your men need to take cover on the right side of the building and keep an eye on our blind side. Update me if there is any movement."
All the men were in place. Freidrich then told all of the men that he wanted them all to yell as soon as he said go. They all nodded and heard his command. Freidrich started making hand signals to the men in the crater. They said they saw movement in the building to the right as well. Freidrich told them to sprint to him on when he yelled. He moved back a few feet and unslung his rifle. He looked at the new building that the men in the crater said they took fire from. His scope was set perfectly on the window. He then yelled at the top of his lungs. "GO!" All of the men under Blutstein's command yelled in unison with the SS soldiers. He waited for someone to look out the window to see what was going on.
Detail, detail, detail... For a post to be succesful, you need to put in the details.
Morale was raised slightly, and the men decided that they wouldn't retreat for now.
The Stabsgefrieter told to "take care of that man", really didn't know what to do. After a few moments of faffing about, he decided to wrap a bandage over the exposed entry wound. However, he was too rough, causing the Private to scream with pain as he felt his broken wrist throb. He is forcing back tears, and almost threw up when he felt the bone fragments move about under the skin.
This is where the lack of detail really yet down. With the low morale, the soldier's shout was half-hearted, but one American Private (the Northern-most one in the building) looked up. Blustein, trying to fire from the standing postion, missed, hitting the windowframe to the Private's right, he promptly dropped to the ground.
Cpl Pearson's men to the North saw the movement, and reacted, sending a volley of fire towards the runners. One was hit, twice in the back, keeling over. One round hit just to the right of his spine, causing him to scream in pain and collapse. The second hit him in the left kidney. He his bleeding heavily, and unless a trained medic sees to him soon, he will die.
Pearson, a trained marksmen, had some success. Blustein began moving when the round started flying, but Pearson managed to get a sneaky shot in. One round went through Blustein's right thigh, severing the muscles, before exiting. It missed the major arteries, but he is bleeding out. He won't be able to put any weight on the leg.
Blustein had a spot of luck, though, collapsing out of sight of all enemies.
Patterson was starting to feel rather confident in his men and his position, but he tried to avoid thinking on it very much. This wasn't over yet but having the upper hand made things easier to handle for a commander. Good stuff, good stuff, let's see if we can't start working toward the end game now. he thought as he turned toward the men in the building with him. "On my command gather your gear, we're moving up to keep the pressure on them, there is little else we can do here unless they make the horrible mistake of moving forward." Henry shouted loudly to make sure all could be heard. Then he turned once more to his window which he had been sharring a view with his closest Sergeant. Henry waved a couple times to grab his attention before he passed on his next set of orders. He wouldn't like this as it would be a bit more difficult to communicate for a little bit, but sitting still for too long was never a good idea. When Giles looked over Patterson pointed to his own rank and motioned toward the north before pointing forward of his position. Then he motioned his hands and arms forward as if he were pushing someone away from him. Giles nodded and it was time to act.
"New orders guys, gimme your ears but let the enemy keep your eyes! The Captain is gonna link up with the extra squad and push forward! Make sure they have covering fire, if need be he'll cover us to move afterward, but that's his call! Get ready to pour it on and move if need be!" Giles yelled throughout the building. His men could be seen slamming fresh clips and mags into their weapons and dropping their canteens along with a few other things to be able to move quickly and shoot often.
"Make it happen men!" The Captain shouted as he leaned back from his window pulling his weapon with him. He could hear the men shuffling inside the building. Henry grabbed the radio that Morrison left on his way out. Once he made it to the rear door two Privates were already outside taking up positions, Patterson did the same and the final Private was right behind him. The Captain looked down his sights for a few moments and waited for Giles and the rest of the men to open up. Once the covering fire had started Patterson told the three men with him "Go ahead and join in, I'm gonna grab these guys to the north, about the time you have to reload look for my signal to follow!" They nodded and turned their attention to their weapons and the enemy position. Patterson pushed himself off the wall and took off toward the support squad. "Having fun Morrison?!" he joked as he ran by his communications man and dropped off the radio. If the man answered the Captain didn't hear it, he was making his way into the rubble.
"No need for explinations right now, it's simple, THAT BUILDING..." he paused to point at it and look over the men's faces. "MOVE OUT!" he stammered at them before looking back at the three men still near that back door. Patterson set up his weapon and layed down behind it. Once they looked to him he motioned for them to move and then Patterson gave them some covering fire. The men already in the area were moving behind him and headed east quickly. "GO! GO! GO!" he shouted at them for a bit of motivation. They sprinted out their own back door and were well across the street by the time Pattersons small group made it into the area. Patterson glanced over and could see them firing into the building before they would storm it.
OOC: The larger group that moved is not actually storming the building yet, didn't want them to try and handle too much in one post.

- After Pearson's squad's volley of fire, and the thanks to Sergeant Giles's suppressing fire, none of the German's felt particularly inclined to stick their heads out and return fire.
- Patterson succesfully linked up with Pearson's men.
- The second movement was also completely succesful. Pearson's men were spotted as they moved towards the building, but Patterson's machine-gun fire put down any ideas of response.
- The German's have just realised they have been outflanked. BLUSTEIN; there is an extremely high chance of the retreat of your men, with or without your commands after your next post. Tread wisely, bearing in mind their lack of faith in you.

Freidrich spotted a head in the window and pulled the trigger. He could tell he had missed, because he didn't see any blood spatter. Just then, he felt a sting in his thigh and then collapsed to the ground. He let out a grunt as he fell. He placed his rifle next to him and sat up to look at his thigh. He looked to see that the bullet had passed clean through and missed all of the major arteries, including the femoral artery. He tried to get to his feet, but couldn't.
Meanwhile, the other Stabsgefreiter saw Freidrich get shot. The gun fire had died down now so that they could easily hear the orders from their enemy. It sounded like they were being ordered to outflank their position. The other Stabsgefreiter looked at Freidrich and yelled to him. "Are you okay?" Freidrich turned quickly, which made his leg fill with pain again. He winced and held his hand up for the man to stay there. "Karl, they have us outflanked." Freidrich said with dissapointment. Karl looked at Freidrich with some sadness and nodded. "The Americans" He was stopped short as he tried to turn to see his men better. "The Americans will take care of our wounded." Karl looked at the man he had so badly bandaged and nodded. "You...are right." He then looked at the rest of the men and started telling them the situation and their decision.
Freidrich unbuttoned his uniform and pulled off his white undershirt and grunted in pain. He put his uniform back on and tied the white shirt to the end of his rifle. He crawled to the top of the short hill and raised it to show the enemy their decision of surrender. He ducked his head down in case on of the enemy soldiers tried to take a shot at him. After leaving it up their for at least five minutes, he slumped back down and held his face in his hands.
Death is imminent. The only way to control it is to choose how you die. A coward or a hero.
- Blustein was succesful in waving a white flag at the enemy.
- However, the surrender needs to be accepted by the senior officer on the Allied Side.
Going by the activity of Pearson and Baker, Patterson if you want to skip them and post your response, feel free to. If not, PM me and we'll wait for Baker.

OOC:Given the longevity of this battle and the in-activeness of my teammates I neither care if they mind nor wish to delay any further for them. Sorry for all the maps, there isn't a lot going on other than moving, but I wanted to be thorough as I don't know if Blutstein's men are following his lead in surrendering or not.
When the smoke cleared from in front of their weapons to larger force off to the Captains right hand side stormed the large structure. Patterson could hear doors being kicked and men yelling out that there tasked sectors were clear, the scurrying about took only a few seconds given the amount of men for the job. Good to know this step was the right move, better position, no losses in the act. He would smile about it later, but that later would be arriving a lot sooner then expected. Patterson looked down his sights once more and saw a rather peculiar sight, it was the traditional white flag of surrender. Guess they aren't in much of a position to run. bounced in his head for only a moment. Patterson pushed himself off the ground and to his knees and yelled so he wouldn't have to turn his eyes away from his enemy. "One of you run over there..." he pointed toward the large structure his men had just taken "...and let them know to hold their fire and position, don't forget the challenge and reply 'Rock' and 'Marne'. They probably have enough adrenaline running through them to kill a herd of horses and we don't need any friendly fire, not to mention they probably all have their eyes going every direction except ours. DON'T SURPRISE THEM." One of the Privates set off at a hefty jog toward the structure and Henry could hear him scream out the challenge and shortly came back the echoed reply.
"Good stuff, good stuff." Patterson muttered under his breath as he took a moment to just look over everything before getting to his feet. "You two, with me, we'll be going in with Giles and Baker, mainly for the reason that we need them to know what's going on." the Captain said to his men before they jogged back to their original location and walked through the building until they made it to the other side. "I'll watch the road, you to get across first, wait til I let Giles know we are coming." They took a short breather while Patterson 'spoke' with his Sergeant.
"Listen up guys, new orders comin down the pipe!" Giles yelled out so his men could hear him. He watched as his commander passed along the orders. "Alright, gimme an ear gentlemen! Cap'n's comin over with a couple men, make sure they make it over unharassed! Seems the Krauts have had enough of the fight and are givin up!" Giles smiled as he could hear the faint whispers yelled by a few within earshot. Then he turned back to his Captain and motioned that all was well for the move. A few short seconds later the pair of Privates darted across the road and it was Patterson's turn, he waited a moment to find out if the enemy would retaliate, but within a reasonable amount of time he was satisfied and bounded over to the men as well.
"Holy hell it's good to see you Giles." Patterson exclaimed as he shook his sergeants hand and smiled for a moment, Giles was smiling as well. "I know you guys have been pulling most of the work load this time and I'm really grateful for it, that's why you guys get the glory as well. The rest of the men are in the large structure just north of the Germans, they'll cover us just fine. We're gonna move in and make the capture. Make yourselves re-" he stopped right there. He looked at them men he could see, they had already lightened their gear and looked ready to move before the Captain had made it over. He looked at Giles and the sergeant just smiled and shrugged. "That's what I'm talking about, high speed, low drag!" It had been quite some time since a small act like this had made the Captain's day, it was more than a welcomed sight.
A few last checks were done before the men moved toward the enemy's final location. "Baker give Moon back his shotgun. Moon! Moon, where you hi- oh there you are, alright you're taking point, Giles you're right behind him, you two are our best in close quarters, just in case they have any surprises for us in there. The Privates and myself will be right behind you if anything should happen. We're going in from that hole I saw you guys made when I came in through the back, nice job on that by the way. This will ensure that there is a wall behind us. Private you watch around the south side until we clear the building to make sure they don't bite us in the ass, got it?" Patterson had pointed at the Private closest to him and the man nodded intently.
They stacked up outside and moved as one toward the building, once they reached it they moved through it with an almost surgical precision. As they moved, the men to the north fired over the enemy's heads, they didn't want to wound or kill anyone but keeping their attention off the building right next to them couldn't hurt anyone, may even help a bit. Once the building was cleared Patterson spoke once more "Baker go check those bodies for anything of use, then link up with the Private outside and you two move around the south of the building, we're gonna get them to throw down their weapons, once you two come around I'll call the other men to move in and we can search them properly before taking them back with us." Baker nodded and walked out the rear of the building. "Giles, get ready to move." Giles never even looked away from the door, he knew he was ready, the Captain knew he was ready, the Captain just wanted to let him know it was about time.
All at once they moved to the western side of the building, weapons at the ready. (I didn't know if they would follow Blutstein's lead and put their weapons down or not.) They didn't make any more noise than they needed and once they could be seen by the other American troops to the north the fire stopped. Patterson and his men never yelled, they didn't want to alert the German troops and start any unneeded ruckus. They just waited to be seen. Surely the German forces wouldn't do anything stupid with weapons trained on them from multiple directions, but the first sign of foolish bravery would be met with a swift and violent response.
Patterson stepped out the northern side of the building with the Private closest to him and motioned for the rest of the men to move in. In the larger structure every man had line of sight to another and the motion was passed along easily and they vacated the building to move in on the surrendering German forces. The American forces took their time having the German troops remove the tops of their uniforms and discard any weapons off into a pile for confiscation before moving in, securing, and searching them.

- The Germans quickly gave up the fight, and accepted the surrender. With their rock-bottom morale, and the sudden appearence of half a dozen American rifles from the building across the street, everyone quickly removed all ammunition from their rifles and discarded them.
- As such, all of Patterson's orchestrated manouevres were successful, no American casualties, and lots of German prisoners.
- However, the Private hit a few posts ago by Pearson's men did not make it to the Allied base alive.
- Screw the Corner Office is over, with a convincing Allied victory.
Axis * Rottenfuhrer Odengaard has brought disgrace upon the name of the SS, losing all sense and freezing in combat. He has become prisoner of the 3ID. His two men that ran were picked up by the SS and subsequently executed.
* Stabsgefreiter Blutstein fought with some skill, but unfortunately could not overcome the American counter-attack. He is now the prisoner of the 3ID. His two dead soldiers recieved burials, and his runner was never seen again.
Allied
* Sergeant Pearson, although present, played a minor role in the battle, simply serving to provide Captain Patterson with more options. - 10CP
* Sergeant Baker did not live up to the role one of his rank should have. He quickly lost control of his men, and another performance similar to this battle could see him demoted, possibly even as far back as Private. However, his use of the bazooka possibly prevented any effective Axis attack. - 20CP
* Captain Patterson was arguably the man of the match. Utilising his available tools, and thinking on his feet once his first plan was scuppered he organised and executed a flanking manouevre and recieved the surrender of nine German prisoners. However, this battle was not long enough, nor arduous enough to warrant a much larger CP reward. - 30CP

Captain Patterson, please post in the 3ID roster the name of your dead Private, and the names of your seven new NPCs. It is also your responsibility to divy up Blutstein and Odegaard's belongings and to set their ransoms.
Ransoms are both set at 10CP each. Must be paid by the one year anniversary of this thread, August 13th, or they will be executed.
The total sum of their belongings that have value is 24CP (I'm gonna let Blutstein keep his journal) plus the 3CP total that they were carrying comes out to 27CP.
I've listed the names of the dead and new NPCs in the unit Roster.
