Stephen nearly jumps when the girl rushes over to him and clings to his side; he looked down and gave her a smile. ”Don’t worry.” he muttered, stroking her hair as he listened to what the other men were saying. She did look like a kitten who was scared…
”Alright sir,” Stephen said in answer to Bevan’s talk about getting clothes and other things, ”Sir, you sure she could be a spy…I mean, she looks so innocent.” he said as he looked down at Addie again. He was now thinking what if the girl was a spy, for as David said they didn’t know if she was…he would have to keep an eye on her, a very close eye on her indeed.
”See you later sergeant.” Stephen said as the man left to get some clothes for her, ”What shall we do now?” he asked the man, ”Would you like me to take her somewhere?” he asked, he began to put his helmet back on, standing up just as Mac left.

The feel of Onkel Stephen's hand against her head was soothing. It was like that time Sister Kiel had visited Adelheid when the child was sick; she had sat with the little German girl, comforting her and stroking her hair. Sister Kiel had kept saying that everything would be all right, and it turned out that way, Adelheid's bad cold going away a few days later.
Onkel Stephen was mostly definitely nice. He was so sweet, and so gentle...he would never hurt her. Adelheid was even wondering if he was an angel in disguise. Onkel Mac didn't seem all that bad, either; he was...was like a great big teddy bear. Yeah...that was it!
Onkel David, however, seemed cold. The man didn't seem to like Adelheid very much. His stiffness, the suspicious looks he seemed to be throwing her...all of that scared the little girl. She would have to be careful, and remember her manners around him, as to not make him upset.
As Onkel Mac left, Adelheid's seemingly-black eyes followed him, but soon found themselves falling upon a glint of light at the doorframe. For the briefest moment, there was a flash of white, and what looked to be feathers...
...Rhys?
A smiling man's face came to her for a moment, and then, it was gone. Adelheid blinked, rubbing her eyes for a moment. However, there was nothing in the doorway, just a beam of sunlight and the sight of a few soldiers running around outside.
It had probably just been a trick of the light.
