Simply bored from the flight over to England, the newest member of the 3rd Infantry Division, 3rd Armour brigade, Bravo Company, Walter Schmidt arrives at the barracks, 1100 hours. Well, it beats staying at the barracks on the East Coast, Schmidt said to himself as he carries his bag and his new assigned M1 carbine to his bunk, following a commonwealth private.
After being led to his room and bunk, Corporal Walter Schmidt lays his bag down near his "bunk"and lays his rifle against the wall. Pulling out his papers from his pocket to reread his enlistment, Captain Henry Patterson, he is the commander of the brigade. Who is my company commander? Walter reads on. First Lieutenant Terry Scott is my company commander. I wonder how I can get a hold of him. Walter folds his papers and puts them back into his pocket. He picks up his rifle and set it into the rifle storage locker in the room, 16A, left side Walter reminds himself.
Walter leaves his bag where it is, just heads out the door. Does any one know where I can find First Lieutenant Terry Scott or knows how I can get in touch with him? Walter shouts, not too loudly, in the hall.
