Time: 15:18, June 15 1940 (after the Germans took control of Paris)
Place: Field hospital out-side of Paris France
Albert limped into the hastily set-up field hospital. It was filled with wounded solders, medics, and a few professional medical practitioners. He looked down at his left leg, it was beginning to bleed again. Albert sat down on an empty cot and tightened bandage put on by a medic. He was about to get back up when someone stepped on his wounded foot. "Austch! Aufpassen wo ihr gehen!" Albert yelled as he clutched his hurt foot. The person who had stepped on his foot took no notice of Albert and was soon lost in the crowd. A few minutes later Albert got up and limped over to the stack of crates acting as a sign-in desk. Once there he filled out a form and handed it to the person sitting behind the crates. Albert thought it was pretty stupid a wounded person had fill out a form before being able to get medical treatment. Before he had time to think on anything else the person tolled him to go find an empty cot and someone would be along in a bit. The man looked like his day wasn't going well, and Albert didn't blame him. Things were beginning to get a bit overwhelming, and anyone with a weak stomach was in-trouble. Albert's wound began to throb as he limped over to one of the few empty cots. While he waited for someone to come and do something about his he wound he began to think about why they had forms. At first it just stumped him, but after a bit he came to the conclusion that it probably did help lessen chaos related to identifying people if they passed-out after filling out the form. Then Albert saw one of the medical personnel coming towards him, and then walk over to someone else. Albert's spirits fell, it looked like he would be here a while.
Translations:
Austch! = Ouch!
