The woodland was thick with trees, light was glittering onto the fallen leaves on the dirt track. It was late evening, the sun was fading slowely behind the clonds.
Two soldiers walked side by side, two British soldiers. They rifles ready to aim at anyone who was lurking. The war had been going on for years now, the British needed help from the US and finally help had started to arrive from over the sea.
The taller of the two walked ahead of the shorter one, the scene looked like it came out of a British country oil painting, bar the rifles and uniforms. It was like a picture, the peace was so quiet. "Want to smoke." the taller one asked, "Are you mad?" Stephen muttered, who was the shorter one, his face was clear shaven, he was around 18 years old, just turned 18 a couple of months ago. The taller man, Richard, was three years older..21. "Out here in these woods, don't you realize we could be shot at any time." Just as those words left the younger man's mouth a shot rang out through the trees.
Stephen jumped out the way as he saw Richard crash to the ground, blood started to run down his face from a wound in his head. Stephen bent down, and felt his palse, he was dead.
He looked up, seeing no one, where was the person who had killed his fellow man?

OOC: Sorry its so short, but I didn't have much to work with.
Friedrich smiled as his sights fell upon the second Brit. He’d just confirmed his first kill for the night. He drew back the bolt as quietly as he could and realigned the sights. The man’s face seemed worried by his friend’s recent departure. “Don’t worry, mein freund, you will be taking the next train to Hades.” With that, Friedrich raised the rifle slightly and kissed the butt for luck. This should be very simple. He pulled the trigger.
Winters had heard the shot that rang out in the distance. He began a dead run towards the shot. He ducked beside every tree aware that at any moment he could be shot. When he came apon the incident he saw the soldier lying on the ground with a head wound, dead he immediately ducked aside with the the other soldier. Winters had suggested too Colly that they took a plan too have one man run out in the open too dodge the shot and the other try and see were it came from. Winters had decided that he would do the running.

Stephen heard the bang before he felt it go into his left arm. Falling backwards onto the ground, he reached towards his arm, feeling the hole where the bullet had gone and the blood.
Bitting his lip, he closed his eyes, trying to get his breathing back to normal, with his good arm he tore abit of Richard's uniform and started to wrap the peice of cloth around his arm, quickly and shakely. His hand shock as he tried to find his gun, his arm hurting him, but his gun was lying in a rabbit hole a couple of feet away. He looked for Richard's gun, but it was empty.
He heard a shout and he looked up, seeing Winters coming towards him. "Winters." he gasped, "No, my arm, someone shot.." he was running out of breath as he tried to sit up, seeing his fellow man. OOC - No worries.

Winters jumped down too the aid of Colly he grabbed him and drug him behind the nearest tree. This way they were behind cover so they could not be shot again. Winters snatched some old cloth to help stop the bleeding. Winters said, "Colly stay here i will run out in the open and i want you too see were the shot comes from then i will come back and we will both take a shot at him."
Friedrich swore as the shot passed into the arm, not the abdomen. Another man, this one American, can pelting up the road, and dragged the wounded behind a near by tree. Friedrich rapidly pulled back the bolt and sighted the American’s chest, as he started to help stem the blood tide. He’d had one kill already, and as long as he could control his breathing, there could very well be two British, one Yank corpse littered on the ground. Taking his time, the Corporal lined the sights once more and squeezed the trigger, sending a bullet screaming towards the oblivious American.
Stephen watched as the Second Lieuenant left, watching him go. He sat up against the tree, he needed to find where this gun shot was coming from, what ever it takes. The German was going to find him anyway if he stayed here.
Getting to his feet, he stumbled forward, stupidly he was outside the line of cover and heard a bullet, it was heading for Winters. He looked to were the bullet had come from and stupidly called out. "Whos there?"idiot! but he was scared to death and his voice rang out into the still evening air.
OOC - Ok, well, Winters has gone so its just Stephen and Friedrich

OOC. Ok sorry I’m back in, I really apologize I had no time and yea what ever
Winters, feeling bad turned around and shouted, "Colly I’m coming back!" Winters ran dodging to his left behind a tree and taking a breath for a moment. Then ran too his right until he got to a tree then dodged back out and jumped behind Colly. Winters sat down and made sure his Garand had a clip in it and a round in the chamber. Ok, Colly as said before im going too run out too the tree beside us and I want you too see if you can notice were that darned sniper is when I attract his attention. “Understood, Colly? If you have a better plan please tell me.” Said Winters Winters took a short sip of his aluminum canteen, this made him feel very replenished. Then he waited for Colly’s answer.

Stephen nodded, not saying anything, he could feel the bullet underneath the bandage, thank god Winters had come back. "Yes sir." he muttered, "I understand and no sir, I don't have a better idea." he said and looked up at the older man.
He knew and felt safer now. "I will sir." his arm hurt, he felt like he was going to faint, but he mustn't. He couldn't.

OOC: Sorry, I haven't post again in a while; I was waiting for my MG.
Friedrich moved rapidly, while the Allies attention was drawn away. He through his Mauser over his back, then quickly stepped backwards, making as little sound as possible. Within ten seconds, he had reached the dip. He carefully moved the leaves back making little, if any sound. Concealed was his new, and yet to be used, MG42. he couldn’t wait to mow the two men down. Lifting it out as if he was removing some long, lost treasure from its previous home, placed it over his shoulder, then removed the two, two-hundred and fifty round ammunition boxes. He creped back to his original position, and lower the weapon down. He then noiselessly flipped open one box, and connected the belt straight from it, into the barrel. Friedrich pulled back the bolt, and looked down the sights, lining it up on the two men. He took a deep breath, and pulled the trigger. He held it for two and a half seconds. Fifty 7.65mm rounds spat out of the snub nose.

This thread seems to be going very violent. If an offensice move is made, can you please wait for a mod post, by the way. Friedrich, you should try and resist those urges to kill everyone you see
The following Actions have been made;
Private Colly
After having been shot earlier, he quickly bandaged up the wound, keeping it safe from infection for now.
Having not been in suitable cover when the MG-42 opened fire, Stephen has taken a bullet across his side.
The bullet barely pierced the skin at his side, going through the front, knocking him over, out of the way of the rest of the bullets. Luckily for him, the bullet did not stay in his body.
Corporal von Namur
Succeded in hitting Private Colly in the side, von Namur has now gained the upper hand in the battle.
Unfortunatley he failed in hitting Lieutenant Winters, and has given away his postition, leaving him open to a counter attack.
The Machine-gun has torn away a lot of foliage on the other side of the road, leaving Colly and Winters even more vulnerable.
Lieutenant Winters
Giving out good, clear orders, Winters has taken control of the allied force(s).
Somehow, not being hit; Winters is left somewhat in the open, with much of the ground foliage torn apart.
The machine-gun fire being an obvious give-away to the enemys position, Winters now has the opportunity to strike back.

OOC: Hope you guys don't mind a little more company
It had been a nice day to just sit around and enjoy the evening breeze that swept through the forest but the key word in that thought was "had". The peaceful silence had been broken by the spatter of small arms fire. It started very lightly which had brought Edzard to his feet, and walking slowly and carefully in the direction of the commotion.
As he neared the area of some odd interest, the intensity of the fire grew at an exponential rate as he heard the distinct sound of an MG-42 start talking in it's loud and thunderous voice. He found himself close enough to almost make out shouts, sounding mainly in vain. He could also see that since small branches and leaves were spewing from the right hand side of the street, that must be where the MG-42 had been lying in wait to seek out the flesh of lesser men.
Edzard crossed the street ever so slowly on his belly and came to rest in the ditch just on the other side. He hoped that the large amount of fire kept his movements hidden from the attention of his enemies. He still didn't know where they were, for all he knew, they were the ones operating the fine piece of machinery across the street.
