OOC: I would just like to mention that in the mod post of the post when i threw my grenade PuNK! said that the Germans were deafened for a while. Well I thought that would mean that some of Hartwigs orders wouldn't be heared! Also when u mark the next post plz remember that we are watching for the enemy so they can't just run rings around me!!!
David fell to the muddy floor as his men began to cheer loudly. They obviously thought that the enemy had fallen back but David was not going to be taken by surprise there were enough enemy's left to counter attack. David leaned against the wall of the lodge and began to hobble inside.
"Someone patch me up" growled David angrily.
Corporal Owain rushed over to David knowing it was not good to keep David waiting when he was angry. Owain ripped two large pieces of his uniform and tied them as tightly as possible around Davids wounded leg. David gritted his teeth as it tightened and he felt the sudden pain.
"So did one of those Jeries get you Sargent" said Owain jokingly.
"One of you three got me" corrected David just as angrily.
Owain shrugged not sure of what David meant.
Sensing that it was time for Davids plan the three soldiers made their way over to David who sat crouched on the lodge floor.
"No doubt they'll be back" said David to the semi circle of Soldiers. " Harper you get over to Howard's position and order him to watch the raft for the enemy and stay hidden keep listening for any swimmers" whispered David commandingly. "
" Yes Sarge" whispered Harper hurriedly before leaving the building.
" Owain, Evans your with me Evans you watch the Halftrack I'll watch the Bridge and Owain you watch the river but you must make the enemy think the whole squad is in here".
Harper left the lodge without a sound and continued on moving from tree to tree as cover. Howard was crouched nearby also hiding. Owain then got down prone and crawled over to Howard.
"John we have been ordered to keep an eye on the river and the raft and fire at any enemy's on sight" whispered Harper seriously.
Howard crawled over to another tree to observe the movement of the raft. Harper and Howard then got down prone and hid in the behind the trees bringing their iron sights up to their right eyes and watching the river and the raft.
David wished the lights weren't so dim in the lodge but they were almost broken and it was difficult to see. David crawled to the door of the lodge and did his best to hide and make sure he had his weapon aimed at the opposite side of the bridge if an enemy attempted to cross he would give them a burst of automatic fire from his Bren Gun.
Evans and Owain crouched at the windows and took cover as well as they could. They trained the sights of their Lee-Enfields on the enemy riverbank and the halftrac. Corporal Owain then began to make a cheering sound hoping to cause the enemy to think that all the allied soldiers were in the lodge and draw enemy attention away from the hidden soldiers.
- David's units secretly and quietly took up their positions by the riverbank. - None of David's units spotted any of the German Movements in the woodlands, due to the darkness (Hint: Flare gun would've helped).

Schütze Heiden covered Jeider’s mouth as he began coming to. He whispered into Jeider’s ear, hoping to quell the quiet noise. “Kristof, mußt du ruhig sein. Der Feind ist nahe gelegen. Du mußt aufstehen und ich folge. Erhalte dein Gewehr, jetzt.„ The man was still a little groggy, but the two men had to begin the operation. Heiden helped Jeider up and handed him the K98 rifle that was lying next to him. Jeider wasn’t walking straight, but he was walking nonetheless. The pair made their way toward the disabled half-track. Upon reaching the vehicle, the two men, as softly as possible, stepped through the open doors of the half-track into the back space. Heiden moved forward into the vehicle; the MG42 had come loose from the mines and it had fallen down into the bed of the vehicle. Schütze Heiden checked the gun. Little damage had been done to the outer parts of the gun and no damage was done to the inside. He loaded the gun, knowing the enemy would hear the clinking, but it didn’t matter at this point. Pulling the now loaded gun up to the edge of the bed armour, Heiden pointed the gun at the corner of the building. He breathed deeply and let the breath go as he started firing on the corner of the building. He burst the bullets five at a time as quickly as possible at the corner of the building. The signal had been sent.
Once Heiden had begun firing, Schütze Kernel moved from his position at the waterside, grabbed the ammunition crate raft and tossed the craft as quickly as possible into the stream. A loud splash ensued as Kernel jumped to the ground for cover and brought his rifle down to aim across the stream, looking for any flashing in the distance from enemy gunfire. Breathing slowly and deeply, he calmed himself, ready to fire on the enemy at any moment. Hauptsturmführer Kriegheld began moving as he heard the firing on the corner of the building. Albertsein followed him and the two began wading through the stream. The water was waist deep and made the movement somewhat slow. Upon reaching the bank, the two men climbed from the water and went up the dirt bank on the side of the stream. Hartwig was slightly tired, but he was ready to fight, finally being on the other side of the stream. He ran to the building’s door and saw three men in the building. Turning back outside, Hartwig primed his grenade, waited three seconds and tossed the explosive into the building through the door into the centre of the room, just after Albertsein had fired on the soldier just inside the building nearest him. The two Germans then sprinted to the tree outside the door and kneeled down as they fastened bayonets for the upcoming fighting.
Heiden – 5 shot bursts Albertsein – 1 shot at Owhin Kriegheld – 1 grenade into building
Translations: “Kristof, mußt du ruhig sein. Der Feind ist nahe gelegen. Du mußt aufstehen und ich folge. Erhalte dein Gewehr, jetzt.„ ~ Kristof, you need to be quiet. The enemy is nearby. You must get up and follow me. Get your rifle, now.
Try not to spam this thread up and David, you may purchase grenades and use them at any point during the battle, obviously you can not do this with other items (such as Mines, Vehicles or Units).
The purpose of being able to use grenades at any point during the battle, is simply because it adds an element of surprise. The element of surprise on this website is very small, you always know how many units, vehicles and what weaponry you're up against. So the use of being able to use grenades when-ever, adds to the thrill and realism.
And also, as you've started this thread with a Bren Gun, you will finish this thread with a Bren Gun. Otherwise, where's the realism in pulling a rocket launcher out of your arse?
NPCs: Heiden & Jeider;[/b]
Making their way to the vehicle, around the right side of the trench and into enemy view, they were spotted by the higher placement of the enemy in the building overlooking the bridge before they enetered the halftrack... (David had his men upfront on the windows before he departed the building, to keep watch. Despite their high morale and thinking they've defeated the enemy into a retreat)
- Opening up fire with the MG42, although it startled the enemy that the weaponry Does still function, it was to no surprise they expected some sort of fire upon their position. - The short bursts of bullets have not incurred any enemy casualties, but has suppressed them from the windows, stopping them from counter-firing.
NPC, Kernel:[/b]
Throwing the raft in the water, has had little effect. Due to the MG42 firing, the noise of the splash has been drowned out...
CPT. Kriegheld & NPC, Alberstein:[/b]
Crossing the stream, successfully, they were however spotted by Owhin as CPT. Kriegheld and his subordinate had to run across a short open space towards the stream - although in the dark, the MG42 firing has alerted all enemy units to a counter attack and due to Owhin's position, even though he may be distracted by the firing, hasn't abandoned his position and has spotted the two men making their ferry across the stream.
(Forgive me for the god-moding of your character David, but there isn't enough alloted time to allow you to counter this action, so I'm modding it out of instinct from the private)
Albertsein firing a single round off towards Owhin through the window, was ready for the surprise and out of instinct, fired a single round back in reaction. - Ohwin's body was knocked over as the rifle round, even though expecting it, broke through his left shoulder, completely dislocating his left arm and rendering it useless.
- Albertsein has lost his left eye, as the rifle round, due to the position of peering through the window and accuracy of the expecting Private Ohwin, cut narrowly close to this head, ripping through his eyeball and cheekbone from the slanted position. (This unit is now completely incapable of fighting and will pass out from shock in the next couple of posts, if not treated)
- Both units are in major agony...
CPT. Kriegheld throwing the grenade into the room, has successfully exploded. - SGT, Evan's, using his wit after noticing Corporal Ohwin skirmish with an enemy soldier via' the opposing window, took cover as soon as something bounced into the room. Although he took cover, shrapnel cut through his left leg and has temporarily stunned this unit from the sound of the blast.
- SGT. D,BEVAN, also noticing SGT Evans take cover, fell to the ground himself instinctively, but also took damage. Shrapnel, alike SGT Evans, cut through one of his limbs. SGT Bevan's right forearm has been stabbed by a large piece of shrapnel from the frag...
- Corporal Owhin, already knocked down from a gunshot was unable to take the necessary precautions before the grenade exploded, immediately killing the Corporal as tried to roll over. A piece of shrapnel lodged into the back of his head, swiftly killing him.
If you are unhappy with my mod mark, I'm sorry, but I have read everything through a dozen times and even just spent the past 30 - 45mins typing this up.
I would also like to suggest for David Bevan to consider retreating, you have sustained two injuries that need medical attention. Any longer in the field and you may die from your wounds.

I have retreated the shots are just there to suppress the enemy.
David dragged himself up from the dirt coiffing uncontrollably. He cursed loudly and began moving over too Evans who began to groan loudly. Davids Hart sank as he saw Owain lying there motionless with shrapnel wounds all over his body. David decided it was time to go.
David fired three bursts of four bullets from Bren Gun at the enemy too keep him pinned down. He then held Sergeant Evans firmly and helped him hobble out of the lodge.
Private Howard and Corporal Harper sited the two leaving the building and began providing covering fire by firing controlled shots towards the halftrack that lay ruined on the opposite bank of the river. When David and Evans had left the area they also ran back into the trees knowing that any pursuers would not be able to catch them in the forest.
The whole squad regrouped deep inside the forest. David agreed that he and Sergeant Evans would stand their ground and hold off the enemy for as long as possible. Howard and harper would retreat to the nearby outpost and return hastily with reinforcements and relive the two Sergeants if they still lived.
David Bevan Successfully retreated. (There are not enough enemy units on the opposite side to make chase and neither is there sufficient lines of fire to hit them as they fled)
Following CP has been issued;
S.SGT, David Bevan:25CP (Retreated) - Fought well and used tactical movements along the river to combat the enemy. - Failed to adapt to the dark setting; Please use a flare gun in future for dark terrains.
CPT, Kriegheld:40CP (Victor) - Held out hope! Captain Kriegheld made one last push/counter attack that surprisingly paid off. However, this may have turned out differently if attempted during daylight hours.
- NPC Alberstein has been promoted to Corporal. - Captain Kriegheld has been awared the Iron Cross, 2nd Class.
- The Halftrack requires 10CP to repair or an Member-Engineer (not an NPC, the NPC may only repair vehicles during battle, not in neutral threads unfortunately).
