Corn Fields - Battle (Mod is Strum)

OOC: After a German and allied scouting party meet in a French forest. The allied scouts are beaten and decided to split up into two groups and run. One of the two groups, consisting of 2 Brits, a Canadian and a yank, approaches a farm surrounded by corn fields. Tired from the battle and all the walking they decide to rest at a small abandoned farm house. Unaware they are being followed by a Hauptsturmführer and two of his men.



IC: They had been walking for about 40 minutes now and none of them were that sure were they were. He was walking slightly ahead of the other three men that were with him. Topping a small ridge he looked over at the other side. There were two farm buildings, a few corn fields and a small wooden bridge. "Hey you guys" he yelled back to the other three "Theres some buildings up here." He jumped down from the ridge and started walking toward the bridge, wanting to get a look at how sturdy it was. The warm afternoon air was bristling against his skin.

The noise of the battle they had just been in still echoed around his head, constant gunfire, pierced only by the screams of men falling...and dying. He walked up to the wooden bridge and looked at it. It was about 3 meters wide and covered a bright blue river. He walked across to the center of it and looked around. They could not be far from base now, maybe they could rest here for a bit. He turned, with the idea of proposing this to the other three, looking back at the ridge he had just crossed...

[Mac Bargett]

While he followed after Sgt. Sowerby, Sgt. Mac Bargett held onto his rifle like a frightened children grabs his mother’s arm. His first action under fire had been a failure, and although the objective of finding the German lines had been successful, they gave the Allies their bottoms back with brass casings. Tired and filled with terror from this ordeal, Mac had been on autopilot ever since the Allies turned tail and split from the battle. He only fell out of his trance when Sowerby pointed out the buildings. At first, when Mac looked over the scene, all he was able to see was corn, dirt, and the bridge, but his eyes soon focused on the 2 buildings hidden behind the yellow maze, one on this side of the river, and one on the other. but Mac followed the other sergeant down over the ridge and then over onto the bridge. There he addresses his English equal.

“I think the best place to rest would be that L shaped building over there. Then we hold any following Germans when they cross the bridge. Since we are all pretty tired from running for our lives I think we should split up, 2 men rest, one man guards the sleepers and another guards the bridge, although I’m just the new Yank. But, I’ll take first guard on the bridge, I don’t want to know what my dreams are going to be tonight, but the plan is really up to you.”

Jacka's keen eyes surveyed the area. The bright midday sun shone down upon him giving him a clear view of the river and the surrounding area. He knew the enemy would be approaching from the opposite bank and he would be ready for them. He looked around at his surviving companions and noticed he was the highest ranking member of the party. Aiden cleared his voice to issue the orders.

"Stick together lads in buddy teams. One of you stay up here on the ridge with me we will provide fire support. The rest of you should probably try to that building down there." said David loudly while getting down prone. he hoped to hide in the tall grass on the ridge and if the enemy could see his silhouette then it would be pointless.

Jacka laid two five round stripper clips next to him in the grass ready for a swift reload. he then drew his bayonet and fixed it to the font of his rifle. He set the rear sight assembly sixty meters.

Jacka was glad of the chance to lie down and rest his legs as they had been walking for almost an hour with the enemy hot on their heels. He observed some of his comrades rushing on their way to the bridge. He careful drew back the bolt on his Lee-Enfield before locking it in place. he was ready to fire. With his eye glued to the iron sight he searched the area for the enemy hunter force ready to take out the first enemy who was seen by his vigilant eyes.

A small breeze filled the air as Haupsturmführer Kriegheld knelt in the rows of corn, a rather unusual crop in the French landscape. He had been in the area for a few hours with his men Schütze Heider and Rottenführer Albertsein, a veteran of Kriegheld's affairs with the allies. Knowing that a raid was going on in a nearby village, Kriegheld had come to this area to catch any allied men that felt the desire to get away.

It seemed he had predicted the arrival correctly when he heard the English voices of the allies nearby. Not wanting to give himself away, he told his men to keep down in the corn and wait for the allied soldiers to come to them. They didn't move at all in the moist soil of the farmland that they upon.

The German captain looked down at his new weapon. The Stg.45 was just out of the factory. It was a better, more efficient version of the weapon he had had before. the old thirty-round magazine of the past was now replaced by the even larger 45-round monster. The barrel was slightly shorter but did not sacrifice accuracy and the bullet was slightly smaller, but travelled faster than th MP44 would have sent it.

He unknowingly compared the texture of the beautiful piece of German machinery in his hands with the rough wool uniform he was wearing that bore the Wolfsangel of his division. He was ready for battle to come to him and he was willing to be patient in order to gain the kill. the allies had already committed the wost crie of war; giving their position away by opening their mouths. they must have been a bunch of green recruits. Hartwig took little time to think of it as he waited for the action to begin.

OOC: I've assigned 45 rounds to the Stg.45 magazine is supposed to be larger as the description says. If I've assigned a larger, or smaller, number than I should have, please inform me.

That's fine, but it may very well jam if you use the entire mag up in one burst...

The sun was up now, and although it was not an overly sunny day, the humidity was making it very uncomfortable. He was looking out over the fields around him, then he heard Lt. Jacka yell "Stick together lads in buddy teams. One of you stay up here on the ridge with me we will provide fire support. The rest of you should probably try to that building down there." Jack was just at the point of saying to make that maybe they should head for that building when he saw it. The corn was moving, being flattened, just of at the other end of the corn field just in front of them. "Hey, did you see that?" said Jack nervously to Mac. Not waiting for the Sargent's response he said "I'm gunna go tell the lieutenant."


He turned and walked round the yank, he hit the yank a bit to hard as he went past and knocked him into the river. "Sorry Mac" he yelled chuckling to himslelf. He then he jumped over the corner of the bridge and ran over to the lieutenant, "er boss" he said hastily upon getting to Jacka "i think i just saw something in the corn field over there" he was pointing to the field from which he had seen movement whilst doing this....

Could you please re-write your post? You God-modded you knocking Mac into the water (I’m not annoyed, it’s just the principle), and you do realise your Lieutenant is actually right next to you? Can you please also be more careful where you draw your movement lines; it looks like you swam a few feet from the map...
