Time: 1845
Weather: Dark with an overcast and it's just began to rain.
The craters are good cover for a prone person to hide from a ground target, and the hedgerows are impassable without climbing trees except for where the artillery has slightly damaged it.

The faint glow of Fred Lebel’s cigarette was the only source of light in his otherwise dark Volkswagen. As the car sat at rest on the edge of an artillery crater, Fred leaned in his slanted seat, while he listened to the light rain that pinged against the roof of the car that had been brand new only a few minutes ago, and savored the calming tobacco flavor that helped him think about what had just happened.
Because of the cold, piercing rain, Fred had been unable to see the large crater in the middle of the road when he drove through the rainy night, and he had no time to maneuver before he smashed the front of his car straight into the hole.
Unable to start the car, Fred had decided to wait for the rain to stop and then walk back to his farm, but when the rain only got worst, he waited until the cigarette in his mouth had burned up to a useless stub before he opened the driver’s side door and flicked the ashy paper into a puddle before he got out himself to survey his bleak surroundings while the water drops splattered against his gray business suit.
