David and his men were ready for a defense. They were well prepared. They had broken thick planks of wood from the eastern outposts perimeter fence and nailed them over each of the windows in the southern room of the building. These Boards would provide people outside with no view of the interior of the room. Private Baron held one door closed while David held another.
"Safety Off" Ordered David.
The men flicked their safety catches off and fitted their bayonets before David could give the order. They knew the drill. David pressed his ear against the thick stone wall to see if he could hear anything. He could hear a strong wind. This fierce wind blew towards the West causing trees to bend under the force of the gusts. But David and his men were sheltered from the wind withing their building.
The weather recently had been very hot and dry. The crops in the area like the local corn field were not in the condition the farmers wanted but it was still thick enough to hide in. David thought that if a battle erupted he might make a dash for the field and hide amongst the dense corn. David and his men were in the building for two reasons. For defense and for shelter from the immesnse heat.
David pressed his shoulder against the door. All the doors in this building where exactly the same. Strong metal doors with no windows. His sten was tucked tightly under his arm with the sling attaching the sub machine gun to him. On his upper thigh he felt the familiar weight of his Browning High Power pistol resting in it's holster. He a thirteen round magazine loaded into the pistol with another round already chambered.
"Men keep low and in cover unless ordered to do otherwise" said David commandingly and his men got down into a low crouch below the window sill presenting no target to anyone outside.

Edzard had been itching to get back into the field, granted he never was meant to be a military man but his skills were rather well suited for the environment. He was to watch over a new Corporal while he assessed the area to be turned into an airfield. Odd thing was that he wasn't even in the SS, much less the same unit. Never the less it got Crimm out of the barracks so he didn't mind so much. Especially since his last attempt at a fight was ruined due to bad intelligence. Come to find out, no one was in the area, not even close.
Crimm slowly pulled his straps tight on his gear and his suit, checked the chamber on his weapon and turned his head. Ever so gently he signaled for the one he was babysitting to move forward in a low manner. After all it was still unexplored terrain and this could turn into a pretty bad situation for the new Corporal. He had no experience and they were sent out in a two man team to scout an airfield. The bait never tended to see the better end of the deal, but the orders were clear. Scout the location for possibilities, report back the information no matter what. They had already lost two teams trying to gather facts about the terrain and Crimm didn't figure they wanted to lose anymore.
He placed his eye to his scope and glassed the area. There were a few stone buildings surrounded by a waist high stone wall, some wooden ones a little further out and a small corn field, well if they got hungry they were in luck, if they got ambushed they were screwed. Crimm noted down the ranges to each building, mainly the doors, but they were all so close that there was not enough difference in them to need the book, none the less it was how he was trained so he followed procedure.

Jack let his pack slide down his arm, onto the wooden floor of the stone house. Staff Sergeant Bevan and his men had already boarded up most of the building, but he stopped them at one window. He made sure that they left a small gap at the bottom of the window, just large enough for the barrel of his rifle to slip through and for him to see through. A sniper was useless, if he couldn’t see his quarry. He gently laid his rifle on the ground as he opened up the top pocket of the bag, extracting a small cardboard box. He flicked it open; revealing the brass cases of several dozen bullets, lying tightly compacted, waiting to be used.
Jack slid the bolt of his Springfield back, gently depressing the internal magazine under the scope. The top bullet went dropped slightly, so he gently pressed another one on top before cocking the weapon. Leaving the bag, but tacking the ammo, he walked around to the window. Here, he knelt on the ground and slipped the front of the barrel onto the stone ledge of the windowframe. Jack had an unusual method of gripping his rifle, with his left hand curled around the trigger, but the butt held in to his right shoulder. His eye was a few inches back from the scope, and because of the window, his right hand gripped the butt of the gun holding it tightly into position.
The view out of the window was similar to that of the village he used to live in in New Zealand. A cornfield was to his right, a forest ahead. His right eye looked through the village, or what he could see atleast, while the scope and his left eye were pointed down the road, at the forest, the direction in which German soldiers had been coming from in the past few days.
”David,” he called gently, ”Do you want to go have a look in those wooden houses over their? Check there’s nobody in it and nobody will get in it. I have the full path covered from here.”

OOC: Ok mod marker plz mod how well the fire does and whether it causes any moral loss or movement. If you decide my spotter sees anyone could you mod him firing a shot at their chest. I forgot to show the Corporal firing on the map. He's the blue dot, I'm the red dot and my spotter is the green dot.
David raked his brain for an idea for the next move. He couldn't stay in the house and wait for any watching enemy's to call reinforcements and overrun the building. He had to fight back.
For the last few days the Germans had sent numerous sniper teams on reconnaissance missions to this outpost and David was sure there would be some out there right now. He knew he had to find some way to disturb the snipers aim.
He watched as Sergeant Knight moved carefully into the next room and took up position overlooking the area where the previous sniper teams had been hidden.
"Henry. Take up position by that window with Sergeant Knight but first ask Corporal Harper for his Lee-Enfield and give him your carbine in return. Use your No. 32 3.5x sight tohelp Knight look for the sniper. I'm gonna go flush him out."Ordered David.
"Yes Sergeant" replied the spotter who crawled over to the Corporal. The two exchanged weapons and Henry crawled stealthily to Sergeant Knight's side.
"I need you to make a distraction for me in twenty seconds" barked David to Harper.
Harper nodded and began to count silently. David crawled quickly over to the door in the next room and waited for the distraction. Harper threw open the door and hit the deck. Staying in cover he opened fire with his carbine and fired five shots randomly out of the door. He was sure this would get the snipers attention. He then pulled the heavy door closed and took up position on the floor watching for any enemy who might try and enter.
Following the barrage of bullets supplied by the Corporal David opened his door silently and drew his flare gun. Taking cover behind the heavy metal door he aimed the weapon towards the end of the corn field. He knew that the heat combined with the strong West blowing gusts would soon cause the fire to spread and engulf the forest and corn field. David tucked his arms in tightly and held the flare with both hands. He then took in a deep breath before breathing out again and firing simultaneously.
The spotter's vigilant eyes were glued to the scope. If he spotted a hostile traget he would snatch up his Lee-Enfield and fire one perfectly aimed shot towards it's chest.

Corporal Harper
Kicking the door open and firing the shots, the carbines muzzle flashes lit up the area, but showed nothing significant. However, he had to fight to pull the heavy door shut after throwing it open, and is slightly out of breath from the action.
The action did indeed draw attention, making the two German Sergeants to throw their heads down (I’m guessing they would be lying down?) into the dirt. The shots however had no effect.
Staff Sergeant Bevan
Firing the flare into the air, it deployed high up and lit up the surrounding area. However, it backfired. Scharführer Crimm is well concealed in his suit and is tucked into a forest, making him almost impossible to see through the vegetation. The area is so good in fact that the Sergeants can hardly be seen either, concealed by their dark clothing. They have not been detected precisely, and you are still not aware of their exact location.
The flare lit up over the houses, highlighting Spotter Henry’s facial features behind the window. It also lit up Staff Sergeants Bevan’s body, who failed to close the door, and is now partially exposed.
Because the flare was fired more horizontally than vertically judging from the map, it fell into the dry corn while still lit, and continued to burn. A few pieces of corn are now alight and are burning fast. The fire will continue to grow unless dealt with in the next few minutes.
Edzard looked his pair of Sergeants over briefly without drawing too much attention, but after a quick look over, a few shots rang out, and the Sergeants hit the dirt, one of them almost eating a disturbed leaf in the process. Crimm swiftly glued his eye to his sights, there was no one to be found. "Odd" he whispered so softly that he was the only one to hear it. Have the allies got a counterpart for me? he thought, but he knew that if they did then he sucked something awful as there were multiple shots and no one had been hit.
He passed his scope back and forth over the doors and windows, the further buildings windows were boarded up, less for him to shoot at that way if they were there, but that also meant that they could move about easily as well. As he looked at the far left door it came flying open once more but he never had a shot as a plume of smoke filled the air in the doorway as a flare came lobbing out and into the corn, where it soon started a small fire. Well that isn't very effective now is it? he thought with sarcasm, but now he wouldn't be able to see too much as the fire spread, but where he was and where the enemy was at the time, no one could see any one else.
"Holen Sie es, ab bewegen Sie es draußen!" he ordered quickly with an arm gesture for a direction, no one would be able to figure much from that. And with a quick spurt, the pair of Sergeants bounced up and headed out toward the buildings to the south, the quickest route was always a straight line and they made it work, hoping the fence and spreading out within the other set of buildings, checking them as best as the pair could, there wasn't enough of them to do a thorough job, but enough to grab the cover confidently enough to get in the fight properly.
Luckily the wind was in his favor, blowing almost due east, not a lot of help, but at least it wasn't blowing south turning this whole ordeal into a close quarters battle. The first Sergeant reached the eastern door of the closest building and kicked it open, snapping one of the hinges in place and it slammed open, there was nothing to see, but none the less his adrenaline was pumping, not through the roof yet, but his first taste of combat was sure to be a thrill ride for his body, he pulled his MP-40 close and licked his lips. The other Sergeant had kept on after clearing the fence and rounded the corner watching the doors and windows as best he could while walking slowly toward them and catching his breath from the full on sprint.
Crimm took a deep breath and flicked his selector lever over toward full auto, his sights still majoritively in the same place the original plume of smoke had erupted, he tried to catch a glimpse of his target through the smoke, but there was little to see. He squeezed the slim trigger ever so slightly until it broke the distance to release the hammer and fired off a pair of bursts, the first one around three shots and the second stopping around five or six, might not have hit a dang thing, but he could afford the move as he had not been spotted and he could draw some attention from his men, they might have seen them cross but they didn't know how many SS men were there, as long as Crimm could get them to run out he would have a field day with them. Right now his best bet was to fire randomly through boards and possibly opened doors.
Translation: Holen Sie es, ab bewegen Sie es draußen! Pick it up, move it out!

Scharführer Crimm
Firing off two short bursts, he hit nothing significant. However, some shots did smash into the farm buildings outside wall, and one stuck the wooden boards directly in front of Private Henry.
The spray of automatic fire forced the three men inside the building to dive down low and bury their heads in the floor. They still don’t have much clue where the shots came from, and their morale has dropped slightly.
Under successful covering fire, the Sergeants moved into position with out problems.
The fire has begun to die, the fierce winds battering it down, and is now close to going out completely; the wind is too strong for it to survive.

Jack peered through his scope, slowly panning left and right to bring the whole battlefield into view, into his perception of what was happening. To his right, the large blaze was dying down, now almost a mere campfire.
Across the road, two men charged across. He tried bringing his gun onto aim, to try and bring atleast one of them down, but they were too quick. He sighed, as he though of the mess this was going to make. So much for a nice and easy day out. ”David,” he called out, softly, ”I think...”
He was cut off by two large bursts of fire. Shit. ”Didn’t see where they came from. Must be in the trees. Deep, in the trees.” He panned along the tree line, for so much as a slight rustle. The bloody wind certainly wasn’t helping, as anybody moving would have plenty of cover with the wind making the trees dance. He tentatively felt his ammunition below. Something told him, that he would need it soon enough.
”Two enemies, buildings across the road. Wait out on it, they can’t move away without me getting them.” Jack certainly wasn’t going to have the easies of times, with all these targets around him, and being the only one able to get them. Still, it beat sitting in a prison cell.
OOC: Couldn't really do much, thank you VERY nuch, JT, so no map.
David crouched at the door waiting for Sergeant knight to take a shot. But he didn't. David had expected that the sniper would have spotted where the sporadic bursts of automatic fire had come from. David knew that the sniper was probably in the woods North West of their position judging by the sound of the firing.
"Henry did you see him" whispered David.
"No Dave but I saw at least two guys go into those buildings over there" replied the spotter while maintaining motionless.
"Get over to that door and get ready to defend" ordered David .
The spotter lowered his head very slowly until he was lying prone beneath the window. He then crawled along the floor and took up position under the next window sill.
Simultaniously.... Harper crawled through the open doorway and into the room where he saw the rest of the squad. He kept crawling until he reached David at the end o the room.
"I need your carbine. This i the last time you will be changing your weapon"said David.
Harper satisfied with his Sten gun crawled over to the door and opened it just a little so he could watch for the enemy.
David gripped the M1 Carbine tightly. He felt anxious about his next move. He planned to take out the enemy in the window of the building he which Henry had noticed. For all he knew the sniper could be watching the window. Suddenly he realized this was the first time he had felt fear in battle. He loathed the fact that he could die without even seeing his enemy. And no tales would be told of a heroic last stand.
His fear was then replaced by determination. He saw the face of Owain the young Corporal who had been killed in one of his previous battles. He felt like this victory would be his revenge. Gripping his M1 tightly he crawled over to the window. He sighted the German in the window and lined up his iron sights on his chest. He made sure he was comfortable and began to control his breathing.
Meanwhile Henry decided to try and fix his No. 32 3.5x telescopic sight to the Lee-Enfield. He fitted the scope to the top of the rifle. Then he set the the clicks to the right setting. He pointed the sniper rifle towards the door ready to repel any intruders.

Staff Sergeant Bevan & Co.
Both men have trained their sights on the far buildings, and prepared to open fire. However, because neither of them have actually pulled a trigger, no offensive actions have taken place.

CLOSED BY REQUEST!
I’m calling this one a draw guys, because although JT does have the upper hand, it’s certainly far from a victory.
Draw
SS-Scharführer Crimm: 10CP Only making two posts, and seizing some ground, you didn’t doo a lot, but more than anybody else.
Staff Sergeant Bevan: 8CP You made three posts, but allowed your men to be trapped and pinned down in a small space. In a situation like this, being static is a sniper’s dream.
Sergeant Knight: 6CP Nathan is evil, but because I'm so kind and never make mistakes, have 6CP!
