Account Email: EDITED
Name: Klaus Eberhardt
Nationality: German
What Army will Your Character Serve Beneath?: Wehrmacht Infantry.
Character History:
Klaus Eberhardt was born in Berlin. His birth date is unknown, due to the fact that his father was a criminal, and his family were essentially on the run from the law, so not many people knew of the boy's birth. His parents were killed one summer night when they came across an old accomplice of Mr. Eberhardt. In an attempt to make a trade, Mr. Eberhardt's weapon he was trading discharged a round, which grazed the other man's arm. This accident was interpreted as an attack, and the man shot and killed Klaus' father and mother, and with their death the birth date of Klaus was lost. The year of birth was also lost, but based on his appearance, as well as the memories of Klaus, he was either born in late 1917 or early 1918. He was taken in by a family that found him in his late father's hideout. As he grew up, he felt that with the death of his parents, the world had somehow hated him, and was punishing him for crimes that he never committed. Eventually, as an adult, he decided to join the Wehrmacht for two reasons; as a way to put things in his mind other than just his parents and his past, and to take out his anger with the world on those who dare to attack his country.
Rank: Oberfeldwebel
Writing sample (following the scenario posted in the Axis Application thread):
Klaus was worried. He'd never felt this level of fear before in his life. He'd always thought of himself being at the top of his league, and never letting anything or anyone best him. However, this was a different experience all together. He didn't know what he was going up against. He tried to concentrate on what was there in front of him and where he was trying to go, yet the thoughts kept crawling back into his mind, seemingly taking him somewhere else.
"Klaus, können Sie dies tun ..." (Klaus, you can do this...) he kept softly repeating to himself. After a while of moving closer to friendly territory, he couldn't distinguish whether he was repeating this out loud, or if he was just repeating it in his mind.
That's it, thanks for reading.
