I'm afraid the length of your application simply isn't good enough for a Sergeant rank. Also, we no longer give out senior Sergeant ranks in applications, only Private - Sergeant and 2nd - 1st Lieutenant. At the moment I can only give you a Private rank, but I'll give you a chance to redo/improve your application, to get a higher rank.

When he reached secondary school he began to like sports lessons and began to train regularly for many different sports. He quickly built up a strong body and grew tall also.
When he left school he became a carpenter for a few years before persuing one of his childhood dreams and joined the army in 1938. His parents were not that happy about this but they could not stop him. He passed basic training and was then garrissoned in the nearest army camp. When the war broke out he was sent to France and was one of the many who survived Dunkirk. His father and his mother were still alive and his younger brother was showing an interest in the army by now. His parents were convincing him not to go and so was Alex he realised how much pain there was in war and did not want his brother to experience that. He saw a man die in front of his eyes after his friend Robert had shot him and from then on he was no longer afraid and was always at the front line ready for anything.

Writing Sample:
The forest was silent the night had closed in on Alex. He had been seperated from his unit when a gas bomb landed and then a squadron of German's rushed into the campsite of four tents. After a fierce gunfight Alex found a way out and ran into the forest. He was not sure if anyone had made it. He had only ran when his Commanding Officer had screamed "RETREAT!" as death took hold of him.
Alex had no pack and was hungry, tired and thirsty. There was no sound at all apart from his breathing as he sat down on a nearby log and considered his next action.
He realised that he had no idea where he was and therefore would have no hope of finding any other Allied soldiers tonight. He decidedthat he would try and get to sleep here. He took his matches out of his pocket and lit one. He held it next to his watch and looked at the time. Half past midnight, he had been running for almost an hour. He then lit a dry twig and held it next to his gun as he checked his ammunition. He had about three quarters of the clip left in his STEN and another clip slipped between his belt and trousers. His knife was on the opposite side.
He found a cluster of boulders and saw that there was a small clearing in the middle. It was big enough for him to lie down comfortably. There he lay down and stared towards the stars. He knew it would be a long night and therefore he tried to get to sleep as quickly as possible.
