Gillian walked along the street. It was good to visit home once and a while she'd gotten homesick lately. She was dressed in a black peacot and her nurses' uniform beneath it. She exhaled loudly. Her shoes clicked on the pavement. She had just finish work at the hospital. She stuffed her hands into her coat jacket pockets.
She was going to head home for a bit before she headed into town in the morning.
Her dark hair bounced against her shoulders softly. The temperature was cold but not that bad. She was glad to be home on terf. Though she knew it wasn't going to last long. Gillian was still highly bitter toward her parents for pushing her into joining the military. She missed how things were before the war and her friends. It all changed now. She hated it.
Her green eyes skimmed around the street. It was fairly busy at this time of evening so she didn't have to worry much about it, but still her guard was up. Over her left shoulder hung her medical bag which thumped against her thigh gently. She passed by other people and heard laughter coming from the bar. She spied the market and briefly thought about heading into it, but changed her mind. She wanted to get something to drink and so she searched for the nearest bar. She stopped at the corner and waited till it was safe to walk again
