Hello again,
It’s been quite a while since I’ve been on IO, and I’m sure quite a few people are wondering why it has been almost eight months since my last post. Either way, I am making a sort of return to IO, as I have really missed the community a lot. Although I am not so sure how much role-playing I will be able to perform, I really hope to add to the IO community as a whole.
So, I would like to extend a warm hello to all the new members, and awkwardly long, intimate hugs to all those I knew from the time of my last visit. Since you people are the largest reason I couldn’t stay poof, I hope that I can make the experience of my return asuncomfortable wonderful as possible for all of you.
For those of you who were wondering what I have been doing, then this next part of this post is for you, an abbreviated list of important things:
I got accepted to go abroad next year through Rotary Exchange. Much to my chagrin, I still don’t know where I am going, but for curious people, my top five were Switzerland, Japan, Germany, South Korea, and Austria. As one could see, German-speaking and East Asian countries round off my top five. Although I am a Twelfth grader in high school this year, I am taking another year of it to go to this future-determined country.
I wrote 50,000 words as part of National Novel Writing Month, writing a technical novel that is only a third of the way through its plot and needs a lot of revision. I think that amount of writing might have been the thing pushing me towards IO again.
Also, I learned a bunch more German and some more French, making me actually able to function without too much failure auf Deutsch, and continue to fail miserably au Français.
So, with that, keep being awesome, IO,
Owen
