I'm starting this thread at 3am, so I have a few random tired thoughts going around in my head that I feel like starting a random thread with. Awesome.
So what's some of the random IO musts you'd love to see someday? It could be anything, from IO's first community meeting to IO's first alien abuduction thread; far far away in the future.
Personally, I would love to see a number of veteran member faces here in the "who's behind the screen?" thread. Over the years, you build up a picture of what you think people look like and there's several people here who I'd love to see their real faces.
I would also like to know if Addie is a T-1000. I have a feeling she's been sent back to the past, now, to kill John Connor who may be on this site.........
Yeah I'm really tired at the moment. Forgive the randomness! But these things do come into my mind and so what's your "SOMEDAY MUST" for IO? Something you'd love to bare witness too. ~Danny

Not quite sure what you mean by IO. IO is many things to me. The people are the most obvious aspect of it. IO can also be defined as the board, both physically and ideologically.
Number one on the list is a massive get-together of all the totally awesome people here. If I ever come into money, I'd pay for plane tickets and everything. Having everyone together for a few days on the beaches of Greece or something would be awesome.
Number two IO must is ending Heiko's iron-fist reign of terror. Hautt could slice him up into little strips, and tell Erik that he walked over a cattle grid in a very heavy hat. I am amused - Heiko
Would be schwiet to have a weekly PuNk! episode or something. We could call it PuNk!'d. Some insight into the intriguing mind of our Dread Father. (<--- was taken from Oblivion, which I've been whacking away at for a few months now. I have 1220/1250 gamer p.)
Something something. Something.

well a few things.....
IO generations(would be quiet alot of work yes but much rewards). this would be like different wars ranging from the vietnam war all the way to the iraq war or some sort of modern warfare. Useing the same system as io the staff and maybe a few who are good at codeing(not trying to call myself out) could start up some stuff in a ffew months a few weeks or maybe even a few years!
Second an affiliate bar that i could put my site on damnit! haha jk
Also i like the whole getogether later on in a few years maybe.
Yeah I'm talking about physically in real life regarding iO (members, etc) and on-board topically regarding IO, so characters, threads, etc...
As for a weekly Punk episode, not quite following? Are you talking about a log-entry from myself every week on IO? Or something else? Either way, I was thinking about making a regular log entry in time to come, just a more personal touch to add to the website, talking about updates to expect, answering any random questions appointed and just showing face. That's possible, I have thought about that. ~Danny

Personally, I don't like the idea of "get-togethers". Money and planning issues aside, they can be a safety hazard, as nothing put on the 'Net can be guaranteed to be 100% true - even pictures and information about other people. Despite the number of characters, there is also still a small userbase - close to, only 20 users or a little over that, if I recall correctly - so it would be too easy for many to miss out, thus resulting in an event with only one or two people. These get-togethers you see, where thousands of gamers from a particular site meet up? Lots of money involved, and corporations willing to wave their name around to get such done, too.
That being said, what I'd like to see on IO is more of a blend between Neutral and Hostile roleplay. The site has a tendency to swing one way or another; I haven't seen a serious battle yet where Neutral characters play a very important role in the outcome of the battle. For example, let's say a civilian was stuck in the middle of a battle, said objectives for the battle to only attack a certain someone on one side or another, and to not harm civilians. The side with this objective watches as the opposite side takes the civilian hostage as a meat shield. What would happen next?

To start with, I would never encourage anyone to meet people off the internet, but should a 'meeting' or 'website gathering' occur, then it would entirely be down to the person's discretion and certain measures would be taken for a safe and secure get together. The likely-hood that this website will ever get some sort of get together, is rather 'nil' and so I wouldn't worry on that matter. As you said, there's a small community here, we're all sporadically spread over the planet and in order to have any sort of proper get together, it would require money indeed.
As for neutral characters having more of a part to play, well, I can say that I am trying my hardest to resolve this issue. One of which would be neutral certification. This would give the neutral characters more of a role to play with hostile characters; whether it wold be religious support (religious certifications boosting morale perhaps), medical certifications or even 'trade' certifications, where neutral members would play a more meaningful role in general.
Believe me, Neutral characters will get a bigger part to play. Right now, I'm focusing on getting this update made, any loopholes filled between now and then once it's implemented - because there will be some and once done, the site can once again concentrate on other issues. We're currently taking certifications into a revamp, because they're overpowered, outdated and completely hostile orientated. As I've said, you can expect a tree of neutral certifications sprouting up for neutral characters. Any ideas or suggestions you may have, would be taken into account.
I'm also taking a look at prior suggestions made previously also. Locker idea suggested by Rafael and JT a while back is going to be taken into consideration and so will be unit suggestions. I aim to also expand the neutral area, as we have done with the hostile area.
The site is going through bit of an overhaul at the moment and you can expect more additions after the update for sure. ~Danny

I do realize that, but I was making a point, just in case.
As for the Neutral revamp, I believe such has already been discussed. Therefore, I eagerly await to see what comes in the new update for these character types.

The new update won't have any neutral character bonuses as such, but the medical & neutral orientated characters will be separated from the main-bulk military areas, allowing us as staff to implement more neutral updates to come.
I be honest, this big update is mainly appointed towards getting the "nationality update" completed, so all main-European-forces are added. Hence, Russians and Italians, along with nationality additions. Breakdown of nationality artillery, planes, units and weapons. No longer will Americans be able to use Commonwealth equipment and vice versa with all other nationalities.
Neutral and Medical members will find this update rather disappointing, because that side hasn't been developed greatly as of yet, but you can consider this the starting block, because that side of things have been removed form the main-bulk-military part of this website and will be treated individually. Therefore, we will be able to make neutral certifications, units, better equipment and anything else.
This massive update is really for the completion of the nationality update, divisional update and a basic overhaul of the shop. Following updates will be hole-fillers and brand new update additions. So as I've said, neutral characters will only become more meaningful from here on out. ~Danny
Lol. If it's that much of an issue, then I'll send everyone webcams and a year's subscription to the fastest available internet, or something.
And as for a weekly Punk episode, I meant like a goofy spoofball thing. Anything from "Episode xx: PuNk gets drunk" to "PuNk gets arrested." PuNk gets lei'd (hawaiian usage,) to PuNk gets attacked by French ninjas. Stay up as long as I have as of now, and I'm sure you'll come up with ideas.
Site-wise, I know I've said it before, but it would be totally kickass to have a Pacific Theatre. It would be nice to have larger battles fairly often there. Mass banzai charges at Marines being shelled by massive artillery fire. A Moderator's nightmare.

yes id love to be able to make a paratrooper charrie and be able to drop into places as they were the biggest and mos crucial part of the american air force and even the army in general as most of the operations that took place used paratroopers and are one of the biggest reason why the americans helped the allies win the war
*bites tongue* Not going to point out the inaccuracy in statements above
You mean the ones like "American Air Force" and how paratroopers where in "most of the operations" and how they were one of the "biggest reasons the Americans helped the Allies win the war"...you mean those?
Anyway, I want to see someone get their ass kicked by a neutral character in a hostile thread. ;D
