War games? Eh, you probably mean FPS/ First Person Shooters,
vCoD (Vanilla CoD/Call of Duty) - Oldie but a goodie CoD 2 (Nothing further!) Battlefield games (Hear BF:Bad Company 2 is good) Red Orchestra: Ostfront 41-45 Counter Strike: Source Team Fortress 2 Day of Defeat Left 4 Dead BioShock Half-Life 2 Metro 2033 (Looks good) Fallout 3
Eh, basically off the top of my head. I've played dozens of FPS and these were all quite good. I'm sure I could help you find more if wanted, but if you don't have any of these and they look good might as well try them.
Although some of these are PC only like Red Orchestra. But RO is growing quite old, a sequel will be coming soon. Still, a realistic shooter and a fun one as well. vCoD and CoD2 are both growing in age, but still good shooters to play every now and then. I stopped playing any CoD game past CoD2 though.
Battlefield games are all usually fun. Counter Strike is a great game, with a great community on the PC. Team Fortress 2 is a cartoonish shooter, but a lot of fun. Day of Defeat: Source is an okay game. I use to play it often, but haven't seen it since. I'm pretty sure it came with CS when I got it, so that's why it's on the list. Left 4 Dead is terrific game to play with friends, nice zombie shooter. BioShock is single player, but has an amazing storyline and gameplay. Metro 2033 I don't have, but I'm hoping to get my hands on. Looks good. Though it and Fallout 3 aren't "war games" I suppose, but more of FPS-RPGs.
Speaking of RPGs, do get anything made by Bioware. They've made some great games over the years. KOTOR, Mass Effect, Dragon Age: Origins, Baldur's Gate, etc.
