Character History:
- Born in Berlin on January 10th, 1920, Karl Ohm, the son of a German diplomat, grew-up in relatively nice surroundings. His parents were considered upper middle class, and as a result of this, he was generally happy with his upbringing. However, when WW2 began, his father (a National Socialist fanatic) joined the SS. In order to please his father, Karl, who had just finished university to become an architect, joined the Wehrmacht.

- Karl is very cautious in his actions. He is one to think and plan instead of bum-rushing in. This can, however, lead to some missed opportunities.

- Karl holds human worth higher than anything else, meaning if an order was given to him that required him to put or be put into harm's way without substantial cause, he would attempt to reason with his CO to try and change his mind.

Military Rank:
- Leutnant, if possible, if not, then anything.

Writing Sample:
Scenario: You’re alone behind enemy lines and you get the eerie feeling someone’s watching you. You’re trying to remain quiet, stay low, work your way back to the front lines - but you can’t help but feel you’re being followed… (How does your character React? What’s running through their mind?)

Karl would most likely act with deep suspicion, and, assuming he is in a squad, he would get a few men to watch his 6 o'clock as he attempts to find his way back the front lines. He might also be affected by deep paranoia, and constantly stop and check his surroundings before venturing forth. If he was in charge of this squad, he would most likely try to 'trap' his followers by setting up an ambush, perhaps consisting of some mines and barbwire, if at all possible.

However, with the outbreak of WW2, Karl's father (a fanatical National Socialist), joined the SS. Karl, himself uninterested in the Party, had just finished university after studying to become an architect. However, his father attempted to push him to join the SS, but Karl instead enlisted himself in the Heer- He saw the SS as nothing but radical loyalist, something that had bothered him ever since he found out about his father's ties to the Party.

- Karl is very cautious in his actions. He is one to think and plan instead of bum-rushing in. This can, however, lead to some missed opportunities.

- Karl, due to his education, is fluent in German, English, and French (which he studied at the university). He also has a fundamental grasp on combat engineering (meaning very basic, simply due to what he learned).

- Karl, in his free time, enjoyed hunting. This makes him familiar with standard issue German weaponry. To counter-balance this, he has trouble with the though of actually having to kill someone, something that could endanger him and his comrades lives on the field.

Karl looked back at the thick foliage, sure he had heard something. He turned to Sergeant Wilhelm, “Sahen Sie das?” he said, trying to sound as carefree as he could, but traces of worried could still be heard in his voice. Wilhelm smiled as he returned the answer, “Sind Sie von Ihrem eigenen Schatten erschrocken?”. The other man laughed quietly, and Karl turned his face away. “Stupid bastard will get everyone killed!”. Karl took a deep breath, picked-up his rifle, and slung it on his body. “Wilhelm, ich bin dabei zu gehen erkunden die hintere Linie. Wenn Sie ein Problem damit haben?” Without waiting for a response, he turned and left, still bitter about the comment Wilhelm had made. Karl slowly trudged through thick foliage as he made his way to the his squad’s exposed line. Suddenly, he heard something to the right, and looking up, he saw 4 squads of American paratroopers. Without thinking, he scrambled back, and made a mad dash back to his squad- Unfortunately, the Americans heard the rusting bushes. “Jerry’s over there! Open fire! Open fire!” Karl had barely taken 5 steps away when he heard and felt the automatic burst’s of the American Thompson submachine gun. Karl dove down and began to crawl as the bullets whizzed over his head. “Amerikaner direkt hinter uns! Amerikaner direkt hinter uns! Schuss, Schuss, Schuss!”. Karl felt a familiar hand grab his arm, it was sergeant Wilhelm. “Sieht aus, dass Sie recht hatten, aber jetzt ist es Zeit, um zu gehen!”. Karl nodded, and him and his squad scrambled deeper into the woods.

“Wilhelm, ich bin dabei zu gehen erkunden die hintere Linie. Wenn Sie ein Problem damit haben?” – Wilhelm, I’m going to check out the back line. That is, unless you have a problem with that.

Hello Karl, I'm glad Erik was able to point you into the right direction, unfortunately he didn't inform you that you also need to extend your character history as well. Although you have provided info to your character's behavior, you have more listed it like a stat page instead of writing it out like a post. While doing so please remember to write in 3rd person past tense, we aren't too strict on this but it helps when everything is written in the same tense across the board.

Character History:

Karl did well in school, earning mostly high grades- He did particularly well at math, it being his favorite subject. After finishing primary, he went on to higher education, determined to become a well known architect. It was during this time that Adolf Hitler was becoming a rather well known name. After the failed beer hall putsch, Karl's father, Wilhelm Ohm, joined the Nazi party, and soon became a fanatical national socialist. He even visited Hitler once while he was in prison, something that made him even more determined for the Nazi cause. After going on to university, Karl sensed that was was soon on the horizon, Hitler had come to power legally, and promised peace- However, this was a ruse Karl knew all to well. After graduating, Karl landed himself a job for a construction firm, but war broke out 1 month later, and Karl was soon pressured to join by his overzealous father. What would happen, no one knew...

Karl, again I'm going to refer back to my above statement. You need 15 lines, yeah you have 14 and some change, which somewhat makes me look like an uptight kind of guy, but if it's really this difficult for you to muster up 15 lines then there may be an issue. YOu see there needs to be at least a little bit of depth in all of your posts to allow others involved in your thread to have at least something to work off of, not to mention posts under the specified limit will not only earn you less points to purchase items, gear and NPCs with, but in cases will take away from the rest of the CP you earned for that specific thread.

This was suppose to be my German character- I decided to go Allies, however, as I saw them as the more 'active' of the 2. Also, I had trouble coming up with things to write for this guy.

Don't be fooled. Just because they're more 'active' doesn't mean they're good. Axis kick Allied ass any day of the week.
