Okay, so while reading over some of those "Do Not Do" lists on the Internet, I came across one that mentioned never to hold a musical. Knowing that some officer out there, in the IO universe, would be one to think of a musical based on the military as silly, who would want to participate in a thread that was in the style of an old musical?
Ideas for how it would work:
1) A character, after many sleepless nights due to...something or other, finally falls asleep. However, the dream sequence is quite trippy, with a day in their life presented in musical format. Dancing cooks, singing Sergeants and Thompsons sounding suspiciously like trombones would be the norm for such an out-of-this-world dream.
2) Morale is low. In order to defeat the wartime blues, a bunch of soldiers come up with the idea to make a musical about their life at that time.

Addie, I love your brilliant ideas.
I believe it would be utterly amusing to have something like this on the site; I even think the fact it's a site based on the Second World War makes it even more entertaining, it would be a major contrast to the threads we currently have and it would not lessen the gravity of war, only emphasize how war can cause sheer absurdity and bring people's imagination to the extremity.
Also, for laughs, the thread can involve characters that are on negative terms with each other (can you imagine Liam with Edward? Yeeah!) in which many characters participate, even enemies - perhaps during the dream, as in your options. I also think we needn't restrict the posters to only two or three for these threads; since it's a musical, we could have several posters hop along the scene altogether, others coming later for the piece of resistance, and so on, it would be very amusing.

Personally, I'd have no problems with that, but it would be a question we'd have to bring to some of the staff, just to make sure it was okay to host. If characters from both sides couldn't be in the thread, we could always have two versions - one Axis, one Allied.
As for the number of characters included in the thread, I think, to prevent confusion, a general posting order is made. Person A, B and C set the scene, with Persons D and E coming into the middle of the story, etc. PMs and discussion threads (such as these) would be a simple way to organizing the masses for a thread such as this.

I would definitely love to help out with this idea. Maybe a series of threads would be best though in order to improve the flow and transfer between members, then it can be all brought together as an episode.

I am in no way a fan of musicals, sorry, but given that I know a lot of backstory here I think it would be funny to read it. However I would not participate in one.
