Character History:
Artur was born in Tallinn in 1925 to a Russian factory worker and his wife. Back in his birth the country was only 10 years old, and its economy was horrible. His father was a foreman in the factories and his mother was a house wife. He grew up with six brothers; Bogdan, Vladimir, Grigory, Daniil, Ilia, and his younger brother Alexandre. As a young boy, there was sparsely any food on the table, as feeding a family of nine is hard enough for a higher class family as well. He usually went without a meal until dinner and was often forced to eat stale bread, boiled potatoes and a few slices of meat.
Most of Artur's relatives were Russian, so much of their home looked like a Russian house. Artur's father had immigrated from Russia after the Communists took over and was extremely anti-Soviet before the invasion. All of the Russian relatives that visited spoke of how horrible the USSR was doing, and how badly they wanted it to go back to Tsarism. They often spoke of starvation running rampant in the cities and countrysides because of Stalin's iron grip on all of the agriculture.
Artur and his brothers got along well. His oldest brother Bogdan, was often put ahead of all the other children because he was the first born, while Artur and his five other siblings were put last. During schooling, Artur and his brothers usually had fun with the teachers, the seven of them often causing a lot of trouble. At ages sixteen, fifteen and thirteen, his three oldest brothers were kicked out of school and put to work in the factories like their father. When the Russians invaded in 1940, his three oldest brothers joined the Russian Army.
Two years later, they would be killed in Stalingrad, all in the same division. In 1942, Artur joined the Russian Army at seventeen. He had limited schooling and was put as a rifleman, basically he was canon fodder. After tough regiments of abusive training and a lot communist morale speaches, he was put to the front lines immediately.

The rolling, green lands of Seelow Heights were quiet for just a moment. The Germans were caught undermanned as the Soviet tanks rolled through the cornfields. The tanks hummed and squealed as the moved towards the German lines. Artur followed his running platoon. He held his Mosin Nagant tightly in his hands. He had just loaded a fresh clip into the magazine and was ready to fire it at the nearest Fascist. As the tanks cleared through German lines, some exploding from panzershreck hits and mines. Artur stopped for a moment, he found a German loading a panzershreck and put his chest in his sights. He fired the rifle, the gun made a crack as the bullet exploded from the barrel. It flew and his the Wehrmacht soldier in the chest, a curse was screamed in German as he fell to the ground.
Efreiter Berezovsky worked the bolt on the Mosin Nagant and the shell popped out, as he slid it back into place, the rifle was ready to fire. As they came forward to one of the first hills, the Germans had heavily defended, machine guns fired. Two men here and there were cut down. The soldier in front of Artur caught a bullet to the head, his helmet cracked as the bullet tunneled into the man's skull. Artur's face was covered in brains, but he continued rushing. As adrenaline welled up inside him, he began moving faster. Eventually, he made it to the top of the hill, there were Germans there, a lot of them. All had bayonets fixed or knives in their hands.
"Die Fascist pigs!" screamed Artur as he shoved the butt of his rifle into the jaw of a young Wehrmacht trooper.
Blood flew from the jaw of the German as it dislocated and he bit his tongue. Artur delivered a solid kick to the German's ribs and heard a crack, he then forced the butt of the rifle down on the back of his neck with all the strength he had. The German gurgled as his neck bone pressed his throat up against his windpipe. Artur moved to the next one and shoved the barrel into the man's stomach, he squeezed the trigger and the Fascist collapsed, holding his wound in pain. That is when he felt the blunt, deafening hit of a Mauser rifle butt his him in the back. He fell to his stomach and rolled over. He took his rifle and held it parallel to his chest to parry another blow from the rifle. As the two guns clashed, a harsh sound was heard. That's when the sound of a PPSH firing several rounds was heard by Artur, and the bloody attacker crashed to his back.
A strong hand pulled the Efeiter to his feet and he worked the bolt of his rifle back, and then into place. As the few Germans left alive fled from the hill, Artur aimed a foot ahead of a running soldier. He fired, the bullet hit the soldier in his back and he fell lifeless to the ground. Artur grabbed the root of the bolt on his rifle and tugged it up, back, and then forward and down. He heard the order to move, and ran with the messy wave of Soviet soldiers. As they rushed another German position, MG42's fired bursts on the wave. Ten or twenty of the thousands of Soviets fell to the ground lifeless and twice that were wounded. Grenades exploded around Artur, occasionally deafening him for a few seconds. A few of the Soviet soldiers threw grenades, and the machine gunners were overwhelmed. Artur jumped over sandbags and fixed a bayonet. He ran after a fleeing German and stabbed him in the kidneys. A few other runners were gunned down by sub-machine guns.
As the Soviets surged on, the Germans were only able to hold them back for so long, and eventually the Red Army had claimed Seelow heights.
