Hello, guys! I just got accepted, and would love to get my character going. What you need to know about him?
He is half Scottish, half German; he ditched the German army at the age of 19 and went to England because he had daddy issues; he is unstable, psychopathic, sadistic, sick, the whole nice package ; he enjoys murder; he takes no sides: he joined the English army because he wants to punish Germany, to subconsciously punish his mother for deserting him, as in his twisted mind Germany symbolizes his mother (I've been reading weird psychopathological books, alright!); he can be over-protective with comrades, but will be willing to sacrifice anyone 'for the greater good'; he likes spending times in the billets and bars, playing cars; he is addicted to smoking; he uses women for his own pleasure and then ditches them
If you have any questions, just fire away! I am willing to do any kind of thread you like, be it a neutral 'calm' one, a brawl in a bar, a heavy fight, just a conversation, or anything else you can come up with.
As for plots, shoot! I'm more than excited to involve him in something, drastic or not, so I'm all ears. Don't be hindered by 'extreme' ones, I'm all for the extreme

Sounds like the complete opposite of Leeroy Atherton, my Romanichal character. She's got a few issues of her own - mostly with her ethnicity and racism - and is pretty no-nonsense when it comes to business. She works at an English inn, so if Moritz were to, say, spend a night there, I'm sure his disrespect of women (and people in general), and his lack of manners would drive her up the wall.

I have a few words for you; join "The Jackals"[/b]. We're built on this type of insanity against the fatherland/Germany.
I'm PuNk!/Danny, so this is my main character. He's a twisted officer who, renown for his extremely short temper and outbursts, has quite allegedly become what you're striving to be. Someone who's striving to bring down the Nazi counter-parts through a method of madness, a method of their own?
CPT. Liam Brentwood has even black-mailed and held fellow Allied members at gun-point to wield people into his own hands, to gain skills for the job at hand through any means necessary - so to speak.
I think your Lieutenant would fit in well, abiding by circumstances he knows his place within the secret society of The Jackals.
You may have spoken to someone called Erik on this site recently? He's Liam's Brother (Tyler Brentwood) and the duo are sadistic brothers, bound by blood and determination to obliterate the scum of German blood; the Nazis. They also dislike the French, for numerous reasons, but mainly due to the incident of Dunkirk, where the French army floundered and flailed at the sight of danger and left the British soldiers to fend for themselves. Having surrendered to the Nazis almost immediately.
You could fit in quite well indeed. ;D Only problem is, I haven't role played for a while due to this update (coding) eating up my spare time online and The Jackals haven't officially taken off properly yet, but certainly exist.
I think Liam and Moritz would get on like a house on fire. ~Danny

Addie: It would work nicely. He could just have a rough day at the army and go to the inn for a beer and a relaxing time, and just take out all his anger on her, because she is a woman, and well, he is sexist We could then take it from there. It would be amusing!
Danny: Hey there! I was slightly distracted by your signature’s display of three different hair colours, haha! (awesome ) I love your ideas, and am more than delighted to put them into action. It would work perfectly, so … Go Jackals!
I have spoken to Erik, yes. I think it would be an even more twisted relationship between the three, considering Moritz is half-German, and they all hate Germans. It’s an interesting touch. Moritz also dislikes the French, but slightly more he holds a deeply-fed prejudice of them being pansies Moritz is not a patriot, so 'protection of Mother England' or 'the Fatherland' either way doesn't exactly give him warm fuzzies - so while he fights against Germany, he doesn't do it for England, he does it for his own sake, based on downright egotistical reasons. Liam and Moritz will work out greatly, especially if we assume they have this really weird, inexplicable companionship; have each other's backs, defend the other when life is put into jeopardy, and the like. It would be something others would not be able to appreciate, or even understand.
Good luck with the coding, I know it can be a bitch! When the Jackals are ready to set off, it will be with a bang

If he doesn't mind hopping on a train or taking a car to a tourist town for, say, a few days off, sure! Conflict is always a great way to develop a character's personality and insecurities. I'm sure if Leeroy lost her temper enough, she might accidentally insult Moritz, and with her high standards of work, turn her upside-down a bit.
So yes, fun indeed, if you don't mind having Moritz driven up the wall in return by a few quips. ;D

Changed my signature now, hehe!
Yeah precisely what I was getting at, with the companionship and watching one another's backs. The Jackals are quite literally a - gang? - of people that strive to do justice of their own, within their own scheme of manners.
Being ludicrous however comes with a price, so if you’re ever caught stepping out line and being barbaric (as an officer), you could face punishments that’s out of any of our control. So by joining the Jackals, you’re prepared to go underground should the worse ever occur… They’re ratted out!
Let’s face it, torturing German prisoners in a sadistic manner and quite openly not abiding by the military rules of conduct, could see you being shot or worse. Me and Tyler (Erik) understand the risks and we’re willing to go underground should ever our little, cult, get unravelled in time to come. Hopefully not. It’s a bit complicated, particularly to a newcomer, but we’re using an ordinary division to cover our secret society of sorts.
The 7AD “Desert Rats” is the main division, but within the division to selected members, is the Jackals - still upcoming as I’ve already said. So should the little cult within the division get snooped out, then the entire division would unwrap into an underground gang, simply being the Jackals.
Anyway I’ll stop confusing you! We’ll have to start a thread up sometime soon, once I’ve finished with this update and I can get the Jackals on the move again. ~Danny

D’oh! Why did you change it?! I found it awesome, you little - Ahem.
I love the underground, so I say, bring it on. I’m fond of the danger and the real, sheer peril embracing the characters due to the actions they take. I’m sure both Moritz and Liam will get into pretty tight situations where they will be between a Scylla and Charybdis, and by the end of the war, we could perhaps have the gang’s ‘noble’ activities revealed and therefore create a state of chaos within the Jackals, with persecution and punishments enforced. I’m not ‘scared’ or ‘reluctant’ to place my character in grave danger, make them be persecuted, and face death – or eventually killing them. I’ve harmed and killed loads. Plus, it needs to be realistic, and something like the Jackals sounds like a form of Nazism (which is ironic), and that just shows human nature is all the same. The end of the war will reveal a number of atrocities - linked to the SS members being hang or imprisoned for life, for instance.
And don’t you think I didn’t notice the little tats on Liam’s arms! Tehee! It can be a gang thing. All gang members must have tats of some sorts, or whatever. Hidden or not. My character is very extreme and is hard to be categorized, so despite the fact he was no inmate or sailor, he had one of his people take up the needle to carve anyway. He is a sado-mado, alright! Admit it, it’s macho, and suits army guys best We could have this scene where Moritz is carving something on Liam's body, with particular allusion to the Jackals, but something no one else would ever be able to understand. Like a secret code.

Still waiting for Tyler to have an initiation by his older bro before we start talking about new members PuNk.
Anyway, I was talking to Maria here and told he she would be perfect for the Jackals. But then when I realized Moritz would be half-German, I wasn't so sure. Of course, we could let Moritz in but have some bad blood with him first? Maybe we could have a thread where we all attack him for being German, but then we allow him to join later? Perhaps, because he proved his worth during the fight? Just spitballin' ideas here.
Oh and yes, me and PuNk already discussed initiations for the Jackals which would involve a tattoo of the gang. Great minds think alike?

That they do, Erik! That they do
Aw, is Tyler (cough*Nancy*cough) jealous of lil' Mo?
Moritz is now a Lt (thanks to your suggestion, haha), so I would have thought the bad-blood-prove-yourself-or-die scene would have happened while he was still Corporal or whatever. But because just assuming is no fun, I'm more than willing to set that scene in present time. That is before they get to know what Moritz is really like (listed in first post) and how he hates Germany, and how he is on the same boat with them (on sadism and so on). So he would have to prove himself. Any ideas how?
Don't worry Erik, I haven't forgotten about Tyler. We have some planning to do before we incorporate Mortiz into the scene, I was just snapping her up on the scene, nipping it in the bud almost. So she knew where her character would be welcomed, particularly as her character - Moritz - is serving in the British army.
The German heritage issue would be something to overcome, so we could plan a plot of sorts around that hitch, like you said, a test of loyalty perhaps? We'll tackle all those hurdles later on, let's just let Maria have some freedom with her character first and role play as she wishes, get used to the place here, we have some thick plots to plan with Liam and Tyler first.
Like I've said, the Jackals aren't quite off the ground yet, not since I've had to put all my role playing in the back-seat to get this update on the move and such. No harm in planning ahead though, if Maria still wanted to go ahead with joining the Jackals later on or whatever.
We will have a better "Initiation" scheme set up by then and as you mentioned Erik, a branding of sorts for each member. It's the type of club where you join and don't leave, hell if you did, you'd be a marked man. So it's wise to create a character you don't put too much effort and thought into, only to come online one day and find that the Jackals have had to go underground and the liability of your character could be at jeapody.
All part and parcel of the fun, right? Anyway, we'll start planning some things between Liam and Ty' as soon as I've nailed this update, done a bit more coding today, but after yesterday, I've been working at a slower pace today. Hit a few hitches in regards to Nathan's aircraft suggestions, pictures and descriptions are all over the place in my inbox, so I need to piece everything together and go over the facts a little.
Pictures all need re-editing too, white backgrounds for some reason, even though Nate' edited them out and saved it as PNG.? So I dunno what's happened there.
Talking of branding by the way Erik, do you think we should add something to the mini-profile or signature for the branding? So it's not just in-character, but also stated on the profile somewhere too? Maybe? ~Danny
Post by ∬: Erik Schneider on Oct 21, 2009 0:14:05 GMT
Aye, I suppose that would be a good idea. Perhaps something in the signature like a logo or even an image of the brand itself? Could always add one of those codes in front of our names if we found a suitable one as well.
Yeah, I know you're a busy man, PuNk. Just trying to keep Tyler alive long enough to go through with this. What with Crimm suicide bombing me. xD Have fun with all that coding.
