This thread is to inform everyone of the different types of Radio Operators, their abilities, and the new rules on support.
There are four different types of Radio Operators, they have been listed from least skilled to the most skilled as follows:
The Radioman is a purchasable NPC (or team of NPCs) from the shop that you may take into combat, although not the most skilled in combat, they can fire if need be, but their radio is the main function. Able to call in either a single member as reinforcement or Indirect Fire Support (IDS). They only have the ability to call one or the other so choose wisely. This Operator incurs the slowest reaction time for reinforcements. This is the only form of radio Operator that can be purchased from the Shop.
This comes in the form of a certified member, Tier One. This member has the ability to call in a single member as reinforcement per battle thread. They also have the ability to call in IDS every seventh IC post made over all by combatants of the thread, excluding mod marks. Faster reaction time than the NPC counter-part.
This comes in the form of a certified member, Tier Two. This member has the ability to call in a single member as reinforcement per battle thread. They also have the ability to call in IDS every fifth IC post made over all by combatants of the thread, excluding mod marks. Faster reaction time than the Tier One counter-part.
This comes in the form of a certified member, Tier Three. This member has the ability to call in a single member as reinforcement per battle thread. They also have the ability to call in IDS every fifth IC post made over all by combatants of the thread, excluding mod marks. This Operator also has the ability to call in either a member or NPC based air support once per combat thread, only the NPC Air support option remains available if member reinforcement has already been called in. NPC based Air Support is strictly limited to Fighters and Fighter-Bombers only! The Chief Radio Operator also has the highest coordination ability, which means they also have the highest chances for calls made to make it through and be followed without complications. Fastest reaction time...period.
All calls made by Radiomen/Radio Operators can be retried until success is achieved, only having one option for member support is not limited to a single call, so if the call fails to go through you are allowed to retry.
Indirect Fire support currently comes in 5 forms:
Air Support currently comes in 4 forms, all forms are available to both Axis and Allies:
No longer are the days of free Artillery barrages. If you call it in it must either be owned by you (or your teammate) or be owned by the unit you (or your teammate) are a part of.
