The date is mid 1941, at a Soviet base.
The time is roughly 1830 hours.
Everyone is celebrating a victory won...
Laya walked to the motor pool. She'd just returned from her latest battle, lucky to even be alive. There were several vehicles there, but she went strait to one particular tank: a T-34/76 medium tank. She looked at every aspect of it: the sloping armour, the Christie suspension, the large 76.2 millimeter gun, the...rather cramped interiour, and the gouges from unsuccessful attempts to destroy it.
"She's ugly as hell" she said to the commander, "...but I owe her my life." She looked again at the failed penetrations, then it's commander. "No kidding there. Heh heh heh...we scared the hell of of the Fascists this time! The front armour is only 45 millimeters thick, but the sloping makes it twice as effective!" Laya was astounded. Never before had she seen a tank so...effective. She examined it again with even greater interest. "Could...could you give me a ride in it?" He thought for a moment. "Hmm...sure, might as well!" Laya giggled, greatly excited.
Laya and the commander climbed in the turret; driver was already waiting. "You ready? Now, this goes faster than any German tank..." Laya smirks. "Of course I'm ready! Go through the roughest course you have! Go as fast as you can!" Both laugh. "Okay, okay. Driver, full ahead!" They take off, driving around the course. Going over hills, over bumps, Laya enjoys the entire thing. "Whew...that was fun!" She put her hat back on. "Glad you liked it." They wave, and Laya goes to see the other tanks...
