While on one of my many web-searching sprees, I decided to check the listings for foreign newspapers. After much link-clicking and casual browsing, a thought occurred to me - why not create a list of newspapers from around the world? IO is a multicultural site, after all; why not give our fellow RPers a taste of what makes headlines in different countries?
Here's two to get us started:
Spiegel Online
An online German newspaper that covers news in Germany, as well as linking to several international papers that cover Europe and even North America. It also quotes several other newspapers, giving perspectives from the center-left, center-right, and et cetera.
A newspaper from the Netherlands, and according to Wikipedia, alligned with liberalism and progressive politics. I find its English section to be a tad smaller than Spiegel. I found this one while surfing through Spiegel, actually.

I love your idea Addie. I always check foreign news outlets, they give a much better view of the world.
So here's a list:
The British Broadcasting Corporation
Obviously, this isn't foreign to many of the members on here. However, for anyone outside the UK it is foreign. The BBC is an amazing news outlet. They go everywhere and they are very neutral. You can bet they're giving you the facts if they're saying anything. It is a publicly funded news agency.
This is the German-language outlet that has the most viewing outside of Germany. Its homepage is in English, but the stories are better written and have a larger variety in German if you can read it.
De Volkrant is a Dutch newspaper that reports on most things. Its concentration is on Dutch internal affairs. However, it does have some very short, but to the point, articles on world affairs. It has no English version.
I understand, there are many Americans on the site. However, TIME is foreign for many of us. TIME offers amazing articles that tend to lean a little to the left, but their are some conservative articles. their articles are full of content and logical argument. They are a highly reputable magazine that has been in the states for close to a hundred years. It concentrates on many American issues, but there are a number of articles with a basis in international issues. Definitely check it out if you have time.
I found some old copies at the local library. I was trying to convince them to renew their subscription. It is a pretty good culture magazine, but I have only read copies of the actual magazine from 2004 and a few articles. They have an english version of their site. (I'll go find that and add it in)
A weekly magazine that gives a look at major news events, etc. Much like Time magazine in the US.
Also,
CBC Online
A Canadian news-site in the English language
Both English and French are National Languages. I would be surprised to find a major Canadian news site without both. Also, it is a broadcasting company just for some more information.
