Infantry Unit Guide
[/b][/center]The following is a run-down of what to expect from each infantry unit purchasable from the shop. Each unit has it’s strengths and weaknesses, hopefully this thread will help you deter what units suit your needs best during combat.
American Unit Guide:
American Infantryman (Private)
The American infantryman is the standard soldier of uncle Sam’s army and can provide hefty fire support on the field of battle with their M1 Garands (Self loading rifles).
Equipment:
- M1 Garand Rifle.
- Standard Infantry Kit // Standard Bayonet.
American Corporal
The American Corporal is an experienced unit and can offer a small morale boost amongst troops surrounding it. Equipped with the M1 Garand, this unit can also offer a good means of fire support; Unlike the normal infantryman, the Corporals are more accurate with the M1 Garand and sustain a higher pain barrier.
Equipment:
- M1 Garand Rifle.
- Standard Infantry Kit // Standard Bayonet.
American Sergeant
The American Sergeant is the most experienced infantryman unit (to date) the Americans can purchase to command. These units come equipped with the Thompson SMG (box magazine operated) and are capable of commanding a whole platoon of men efficiently. These Sergeants also raise morale greatly, higher than the corporal and perform excellently during close combat with their SMGs.
Fuelled with the highest pain barrier an infantryman can get, they are also harder to kill to a degree and more accurate with their weaponry than most other infantryman. Although, the Thompson SMG doesn’t require much of an aim with it’s shorter range and so it’s wiser to purchase Corporals for the more accurate longer shots you wish to make.
Equipment:
- Thompson SMG (box magazine operated).
- Standard Infantry Kit // Standard Bayonet.
American Sniper
The American sniper is equipped with the Springfield rifle (scoped) and comes bearing the detailed camouflage that strengthens their concealment within foliage and urban terrains, but not as good in winter and desert terrains.
Skilled to take that “one shot”, these marksmen are best used at medium to far ranges and can be compromised within close ranges if not careful. They don’t have a magnificent pain barrier and neither are they very experienced for close range combat, so it’s wise to keep these bad-boys at a good distance from the enemy if you wish to use their full expertise to the limit.
Equipment:
- Springfield Rifle (Scoped).
- Heavier uniform, due to the camouflage. (Foliage & Urban terrain)
- Standard Infantry Kit // Standard Bayonet.
American Engineer
The American Engineer can perform arduous tasks on pieces of machinery in the battlefield; Whether it be attempting to repair a vehicle or even un-jam someone’s weapon, these guys play a very important role for mechanized units and even columns of infantry with heavy gunnery that could become jammed or broken.
The engineers also come equipped with a grease-gun, making them versatile fighters within medium to close ranges, but due to the heavy gear they carry of tools and spare parts, they aren’t the quickest to react to a situation. So although they’re able to hold their ground against any enemy infantry, their main talent falls with their expertise within the mechanical field.
Equipment:
- Grease-gun.
- Tools & Spare parts.
- Standard Infantry Kit // Standard Bayonet.
American Radioman
The American Radioman is the standard communication unit of the American forces, capable of communicating in and out of battle with third party members; These third party members span from one additional member who could be called in as reinforcements or NPC Controlled artillery units on the outskirts of the battle.
So, these units main role as support, are;
- Enables the member to call in one member orientated reinforcement.
- Enables the member to call in artillery strikes, every seven posts.
This unit is also equipped with an M1 Carbine, a light weight rifle, allowing this already cumbersome unit, weighed down by the radio gear and infantry kit, to hold it’s ground and additionally help troops with firing upon enemy positions.
Equipment:
- M1 Carbine
- Radio Equipment
- Standard Infantry Kit // Standard Bayonet.
American AT Gunner
The American Anti-Tank gunner is equipped with the large 75mm recoilless anti-tank rifle; Making this unit immediately fierce against enemy armour and enemy vehicles in general. Capable of shooting enemy vehicles with the mammoth beast of a rifle, this unit easily pick off enemy vehicles from afar and even damage enemy armour from the same distance.
Bulky and heavy, the equipment of weaponry, including the standard infantry kit, makes this unit one of the slowest available from the American infantry to set-up/dismantle and move. Due to the 114lbs of weight just in the weaponry it’s self, does call for concern, considering if this unit was compromised or had it’s position overrun, there would be little else for the gunner to do than abandon the weaponry.
If the gunner dies during combat and the weaponry is salvaged, the recipient will have to pay a 15CP penalty to replace the trained gunner.
Equipment:
- 75mm Recoilless Rifle (114lbs in weight)
- no side-arm
- Standard Infantry Kit // Standard Bayonet.
Bunker & Tank Buster
Currently, this unit is the most cost effective anti-armoured unit you could purchase. Equipped with a trench gun (shotgun) and bazooka, this unit is highly capable of taking on close combat fighting and armoured units all in one go. Unlike the AT-Gunner though, the bazooka is useless at long range, making this unit only effective at medium range with the bazooka and close range with the shotgun.
Although this unit may seem unworthy to an extent, within a column of men, this unit will always standout as being the life-saver, as the option of taking on armoured units or vehicles is immediately available. Although the close range fighting of this unit is at it’s peak, making the shotgun devastating at close range, this unit can only perform one task at a time and with all the gear he’s carrying, makes this unit amongst one of the slowest within the American forces.
Equipment:
- Bazooka (6.5Kg Empty)
- Bazooka Rockets
- Trench Gun (shotgun)
- Standard Infantry Kit // Standard Bayonet.
