The shop is something which is worth knowing your way around. Although it looks rather obvious (click, click), there have been quite changes and little thing added, so there are many restrictions. This thread is meant to help you choose what weapons and items are best for you, depending on how much CP you have.
Rules
Whenever you are going to buy and item, check in the Rules and Information Board to if there are any rules governing its usage. For example, a common mistake to make is to purchase two primary weapons, or two two-handed firearms. You can’t legally do this, without a certification.
Command Points
There is already a thread about earning CP in Rules and Information, and it outlines how you get them. The safest and best way to start earning them, is through neutral roleplays. Try to complete three to five before going near the shop, and try and make each one good and entertaining to read. The more entertaining a thread, the more us staff will award you. Imagine it as a book. If it’s a good book, we’ll pay more to buy it. If it’s a boring book, we’ll pay less. It’s quite simple. You can also earn CP by doing a little bit of admin work here and there, and sometimes through making new suggestions, if we like them. However, its hard to do admin work without a position, so please concentrate on RPing first.
Saving Up
When you have a spare moment, it’s worth reading through different parts of the shop, and seeing if there’s anything you fancy getting your hands on. Make a mental list of a few, then compare them on the weapon stats list.
What to buy…
The shop has over one hundred items, and although you probably can’t go near half of them, the other half do look very tempting. So what do you actually buy then?
The first thing to do, is to loose your bolt action rifle (if you have one). You need to decide what sort of combat you favour.
If you like being up close and personal with the enemy, a shotgun or submachine gun are perfect weapons. At under ten metres, who needs to be a good shot.
If long range combat is more your thing, purchase a sniper rifle or machinegun. These weapons can rip enemies apart, and keep them away from you.
And if you’re not really sure, go for a semi-automatic rifle or carbine. These are a bit of both, and a very useful if you are indecisive.
If you play a battle and find you like one type of combat over the other, sell your current weapon and get another. From my experience, it’s best to go for one extreme or the other, because the middle weapons don’t do either job well.
Don’t purchase pistols, vehicles, NPC’s, or any other small items at the start. Save up, or borrow them. Look out for number one first and foremost, and you might just stay alive.
