Friedrich was born in Lübeck, 5th January 1923. His mother was a school teacher and his father an officer in the wehrmacht. He was the third brother in the family. He was raised in a middle-class family though very disciplinary cause of his father which just kept the family more together at least that was how it felt. Although like any other kid he attended school at home he also learned English at home from his mother who was an English teacher, and she wanted him to be educated when he was done with his education, and thought it would be useful in the army.
During the first years in school he had a speech error being bad socially although after a few years and being taught some at home he became better at speaking but his past made him be a bit bad socially although he usually come out on the better side. He had a lot of friends during school, some older though most his age. Although he don't talk a lot people tend to like him, he has a friendly temper and has it easy keeping his head cold and calm in almost any situation.
As a part of being raised, his father took him and his brothers hunting so they would be better marksman as well as taking them on survival trips so that they would be able to survive outside, and generally to train them so they would have easier being soldiers when they became older. By spending a lot of time with his brothers he gained a better feeling towards the military and knew that as soon as possible he would join up despite his mothers want to get him to become something more then just a soldier.
As he reached the age of fifteen the invasion of Poland started and the news spread fast over the country, them knowing that the first born was currently at the front fighting for Germany. Although his father wasn't quite fond of the national socialist party his love to his fatherland made him proud of one of his sons actions in the war effort, and hoped to see the training hadn't bin wasted, and hopefully he'd survive the entire war, a thought that they didn't want to spread much thought.
All while his school continued more people became soldiers and started to join the German army or the Schutzstaffel. Himself he most felt like joining an aufklährungs einheit, he had always had a joy to motorcycles specially the zundapp he saw a lot of soldiers ride around on in lübeck, he knew that when he got old enough he'd join either a panzer division or Aufklärung-Abteilung. The motorised idea always kept his dreams up on what he'd do.
As he reached the age of sixteen he ran away from home wanting to join both his brothers who was fighting although he was too young he did like one of his friends had told his older brother did, lie about his age. He with some money he had gotten he travelled to Hamburg. He quickly came to the recruiter and after a hard attempt at persuading he signed his papers also because there was a lot of others wanting to sign in.
During his training he was amongst one of the better marksman thanks to his training with rifles he had gotten while he was younger made him come better out of training as well as having a good endurance. And amongst his comrades he also quickly became popular in the unit. When he was done with training he was assigned to the 1st panzer division as a kradschützen in the 1st Kradschützen-Battalion. So he felt he got out on the better side of what he could have ended.
And then he was send to france with the division where he had his first fighting experience, some of the fighting was harder then he had expected but it was by showing himself there he was noticed by his superiors, and for commanding a group of men in battle he received a promotion to Obergefrieter to his surprise, specially when he thought about his age although people still thought him eighteen.

Scenario: Your character is on the frontlines during a massive attack by the enemy. His leader takes a bullet to the chest leaving your character in charge... (What does he do? What is running through his mind?) Must be at least 15 lines of text.
16th may 1940, France. They had arrived in heavy fighting against the British forces, they had met heavy resistance and was doing heavy fighting, it was going a mix of good and bad. They had bin moving toward Dunkirk hunting down the British and French forces who was making a counter attack. The group he was with was moving on foot Friedrich felt a bit bothered by not being on his usual motorcycle but as always they were also a part of the infantry, standard rifleman.
He laid on the ground feeling a mix of scared, nervous and a bit of pride to defend his fatherland. While they were laying in cover under enemy fire, this was far from what he had expected, and it had went to well the last few days there is a lot of shouting, and the leader was currently trying to plan what they would do to move forward. The leader got to his knees and pointed forward with his gun ”Fire at Will!” There was yelled and then the fire starting to come from down the line ”For the Fat!-” Then the choking sound came from the leader as he had bin hit.
Friedrich was shocked to see his leader having bin killed, he pondered what to do before yelling for the medic ”Sanitäter!” and quickly turned back and shot towards the enemy seeing as they prepared to assault at least that is how it seemed, specially when the suppressing fire started. ”Soldiers, Fix Bayonets!” He wasn't quite fond of the idea of having to be in close quarter combat, but his loyalty was high, and his popularity did that people stayed although he was just one of the enlisted men, although every of them knew the order.
He looked down his line and saw the people had attached bayonets and the flashes from the rifles and the MG's. Then the earth started rumbling and through some bushes a French R35 came driving and with it war cries from the British forces who quickly came with it although the lead of it became shot fast before people started hiding behind the tank and some rushing forward with their bayonets.
”Stay in Line!” Friedrich cried out as he battled to control his fear as he felt the adrenaline rush through him, they hadn't expected seeing a tank, although they did have the equipment although it might take some time. As he heard the exploding sound of the tank firing its main gun and the explosion where it hit nearby making a slight ringing tone in his ears. ”Hans, Magnus Come here!” He called while he tried to think of an idea that would solve this problem and keeping his head cold.
Then suddenly he figured out an idea which would help, cause they had the PzB 39, which at first had seemed a waste but now he was glad that the two soldiers he had just called carried it. ”Fire at the tank from here!” He ordered with a faint smile which he mostly had cause of being nervous, although he stayed cool he wished that he was somewhere where the battle didn't stand, and at the same time feeling that he was proud ordering the group.
Quickly the tank stopped dead in its tracks and Friedrich felt a joy going through his body as the battle had become more hopeful. As the first wave of enemy infantry came close he gave a risky order to charge ”Charge! For the Fatherland!” And the soldiers started yelling too before he hesitantly got himself of the ground and charged with the rest of the unit with bayonets first.
He came close to the enemy and stabbed him in the chest, feeling regret and contempt towards the act him and his comrades was doing he was close to be hit by a bayonet though he quickly moved away before one of his comrades hit the man. He quickly made an overview over the battlefield seeing that they were doing good although soon this would end bad. After some more fighting the opponent retreated. They themselves fell back to their original position where he thought of how they'd keep this on, mostly because he wasn't used to command and he didn't want to be the one who had bin the cause of these men's death.
When he laid there looking around trying to figure out what to do the radio operator came over to him ”We're getting an all out retreat away from Dunkirk. Direct order” Friedrich felt the joy of hearing that order it was well needed, specially cause of the losses a relief to get out of here, he wasn't going waste it ”Thank you... Unit! Back to the division, we're moving out! Move back!” He yelled with great relief in his voice before they hurried back towards the division which wasn't long away.
