Accepted.
Tbh, it's an excellent idea and you are a great writer.
Two things; 1) There is a small chance that your character could die, so you can't say that he survived the war.
2) I'm just gonna put you down as a Private, instead of the "piper" that you asked for. I don't want you to be all different.
Have fun RPing!

NOTE: OK, this is quite a weird application; it hasn't been done before and if it's not what you're looking for, I'll just make a more conventional application...

What Army will Your Character Serve Beneath?
UK
Character History:
Born in 1909 in the Scottish district of Lochaber, Darren was an intelligent child and an avid musician. His blossoming career as a bagpipist was unable to evolve into anything large-scale, due to the poverty that engulfed his extremely large family.
When war broke out in 1939, he reluctantly joined the British army and served under the Scottish batallion The Loval Scouts, captained by the Lord of Lovat, Simon Frazer.
He was a generally inimpressive combatant but his bagpiping skills soon came to the attention of a number of commanding officers, who deemed his music as outstanding for moral.
Cameron was soon assigned the postion of personal piper to the honourable Lieteunant George Kennedy, an important figure throughout the Scottish forces.
Perhaps irresponsibly, the Lord Frazer decided rashly that a number of musicians would march into battle, armed with only their musical instruments, despite the inevitably high death toll.
Cameron was a high-ranking members of the piper forces and, although rebellious towards the foolishness of the venture, led his men charismatically to victory on a number of occasions. He was one of the only pipers to survive the war. It is generally believed that the German forces didn't aim at Cameron due to the fact that they believed him to be mad!
Military Rank:
- Piper
Writing Sample:
Darren had never been so scared in his life.
A still quiet hung in the frosty air as he clung onto his bagpipes for comfort. He had had them since the age of seven and they were more comforting than any gun. Although, a gun would be useful right now...
Darren knew that he wasn't alone. Someone - or something - was watching, waiting, ready to pounce.
He hung his head. If he were to die, who would remember him? No one would ever forget the brave soldiers who gave their lives for their country but who would remember a little musician whose main contribution to the war was blowing through a pipe?
At least Frazer had had the intelligence to issue him with a gun this time. It was nothing special; just a tatty old piece of rubbish. Darren wasn't even sure if it worked but it didn't really matter. He was such a poor shot, he would probably have more chance of hitting his target if he just threw the damn thing towards the enemy.
He saw a sudden movement out of the corner of his eye and readied himself for the inevitable skirmish ahead of him. But nothing came. Darren sighed with relief. And then, the darkness took him.
