Hi all... Im after some books or movies told from the German point of view on the war. So far the only movie i've found is, Is Paris Burning? An old school black and white film that looks like it takes place after the attempted assasination of Hitler in Valkyrie.
Well, I tried compiling a list for you (in a completely random order) with films that I would recommend. I have left out Hollywood productions such as Schindler's List and The Pianist, because I'm sure you have seen these, they're the most famous. Also, I included some films which do not necessarily have a lot of action and explosions, and some offering archived footages for that authentic touch. I mostly tried to suggest movies in which the Germans have a more significant role than simply acting as cannon fodder for the likes of Steven Spielberg as well as those where an American soldier is surrounded by fifty satanic, drooling with evil Germans and escapes without a single scar while killing all of them with his precious Colt, ahem.
Ach! I'm pretty sure I'm forgetting some but I will edit it later once I remember. Also, regarding books, do you want novels or just good history books?
Oh, and "Is Paris Burning?" isn't told from the German perspective, but from the Frenchies.

Thank you very much for this list, I'll look into getting each one. I thought "Is Paris Burning" was from a German perspective because its the only film so far that has given any real insight to the German Point of View. But thank you for correcting this thought.
Oh, and with the books Novels are what im mostly after but a good history book wouldn't go astray either. thanks again
