I was just wondering; I know NPCs can get promoted, I have had one promoted myself, I think I was the first member to have an NPC promoted if I remember correctly (CPL. Kaiser J. Gerwulf), but I was wondering...
What do you have to actually do to get an NPC promoted?
Are they promoted through a means of valour in battle or do they need to be forwarded as a recommendation from a divisional officer? I've seen plenty of battles take place since and very little NPC promotions, so I wasn't sure if the rules had changed on NPC promotions or even member promotions for that fact?
Everything seems to be divisional recommendation orientated now, does this include NPC units or are they promoted through a means of combat experience - or what?
Thanks for any answers. By the way, do you think the site might get a promotional table in time to come? So we can see what we as members have to do in order to gain promotions or our NPC units for that matter? I think it could come in handy. - Raf

As far as member promotions go there has never been a set number of guidelines for them. I do know that when a Commander forwards the request to a staff member that it is best to have two officers in agreement about the promotion and a list of accomplishments, links for them would also help.
Things that can influence a promotion:
- Hostile Victories - A Hostile Loss where you inflicted more damage to your opponent than had inflicted upon you - P.O.W. Captures - Passing a Certification test with more than the minimum requirement. - Teamwork (lending units to a fellow member in your unit/donating to unit funds [These tend to put you in good standings with your commander who will then speak more highly of you in the request])
As it stands the higher your rank is the more of these things you may need. But also the size of your victories matter, you can win three squad on squad conflicts but if you are defeated in a battle involving and entire platoon, well you can add the numbers up and see where I'm coming from.
As for the commanders themselves you can either be requested by two lesser COs or the staff may just take it into their own hands to bring it up among other staff members.
When it comes to NPCs those tend to be almost entirely staff based. If you have a CPL or PVT that does an outstanding job in a single battle then there is a chance the mod will note this in a the final mod mark and then post this in the unit thread(s) when they post the stats. As far as keeping a log on NPCs over time, this is beyond difficult as there are several hundreds of NPCs on the site.
This is the promotion aspect of Issuing Orders as I see it, PuNk! may have slightly different views but none of the above would hurt you in a promotion request.
