Some time ago I asked about player engineers fixing vehicles outside battles and from what I understood, it works as follows;
- The mod of the battle is asked about the damage on the vehicle. - The engineer attempts to fix the vehicle in a neutral, describing the process. NPC engineers can be used for assistance. - The mod decides if the fixing attempt is successful.
I'd like some clarification on this, maybe some official rules could be put up regarding it?
If this is how the fixing works, to me it seems as if it forces people to have some quite dull neutrals centered around just fixing vehicles and I'm quite sure that very few people would be interested in taking part in threads such as these. I'd expect that after fixing five vehicles in different threads, it does get quite boring. So are separate neutrals for this required or did I just completely miss the point of how the whole thing works? Seems like it would be just easier paying for the whole process. (Or maybe I'm just being very lazy, lol!)
Engineering doesn't really have as many perks as other certs seem to have, at least when it comes to battles. So just worried if it's all work and no fun for us poor engineers... Which is actually just Dan and me, it seems.
Well, obviously I meant it more in the way "just Dan and me, the two most dashing and awesomest members on this site".
Also, I forgot to ask something else about engineering I've been wondering about. Where can we MacGyvers get a toolbox or will just a Swiss Army Knife do? ;D
It's meant to be issued to you from the hidden area of the shop, but you'll probably need to wait for the re-vamp, as the shop will be all muddled up in a few days

I'm not a staff member (but Dan should know this! ), I think you have to make a neutral thread and repair whatever's broken, whilst having a moderator monitor the thread or something. I asked Punk a while back about Kriegheld's broken halftrack, but I paid a penalty CP charge to just get it fixed straight away, I THINK he said something along the lines of having an engineer repair the vehicle in a neutral thread with the presence of a moderator to monitor the repairs.
Obviously it would have to be a moderately certified skilled engineer to make the repairs, not just an apprentice, who can only repair weaponry and etc. Ask him though to be sure, but if I remember rightly, that's what he told me. - Raf
