Well as you may all know Hitler knew quite a few stuff in History and I read many articles and shows about how he thought about it.The nazis actully searched for the holy grail and other religous artifacts like the ark of the covenant. This kninda creept me out cause being a devoted catholic I have to say they had all of Europe and Africa to look for stuff.I mean evening if they found any thing remotely important it still would be a great find. Some even believed that the nazis found artifacts and hid them.Tell what your views are on this subject.
For being such a religious artifact nut, he sure gave religion the finger. Referring to Jesus as being "One so meek" when compared to himself.
It's no secret that they were looking for artifacts and the like. Maybe they were looking for something to give them an edge. Maybe they wanted to have artifacts to coincide with their Aryan ideology.
I believe the Soviets were interested in the supernatural too.
Who knows, maybe they did find artifacts, maybe they did hide them, but at the same time, I doubt they did. If they had, then surely they would have paraded it before the world?

Yes, Hitler was somewhat obsessed with religion and mythology, but you make it seem as if he was obsessed with Christianity. Hitler and Himmler very much wanted to reinvigorate the beliefs of the old and have people follow neo-pagan customs. This included injecting Christian holidays with more pagan themes and customs. Knowing that it would be quite impossible to just make certain holidays vanish, they went on to say that, for example, the Palm Sunday was actually a pagan rite of fertility and should be celebrated as such. Other holidays took a more pagan tone also and the Nazi's celebrated Yule, midsummer fest and the likes, all pagan holidays. Many Christian holidays actually stem from the pagan traditions, so the Nazis only had to dig up the old beliefs.
The Nazis were looking out to create a religion of their own of sorts, one that heavily borrowed from old pagan customs, Norse gods and runes. To search for Christian artifacts had more to do with the quest itself than with Christianity. They did believe that Jesus was an Aryan, but had of course did not have much to actually prove such a thing. The Nazis had something of a replacing religion for people who left the Catholic church, one called Gottgläubigkeit, "God Belief". This was a religion of their own that borrowed things from neo-paganism and had quite a few followers during the Third Reich.
From all I have read, I never got the impression that the Nazis were to keen on finding just Christian artifacts. Mostly the excavations had to do with trying to prove the fact that all modern progress actually is of Aryan origins, hence making the Aryans truly the master race. The research also included gathering evidence to prove that race can be measured and discerned. This included things such as taking measurements of people's skulls and comparing their eye and hair colour to colour charts.
Of course, Himmler and many others had a fascination towards the Teutonic knights and the Knights of the Round Table, hence giving some interesting basis for the search of such artifacts as the Holy Grail, the Ark of the Covenant and the Spear of Destiny. I would say that instead of it being a search that stems out of religious interest, it had more to do with the fact that Himmler wanted to see himself and all these enthusiastic Aryan men much like the aforementioned knights. Where as the Grail was fervently searched for generations for purely religious purposes, to Nazis the quest itself might have elevated them to the status of the fabled knights.
